Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Romulus Gerber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sharven Sheven!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.

Sheven closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gerber to the mat! Gerber manages to get full guard.

Gerber manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gerber just misses with a punch to the body.
Gerber lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Gerber dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sheven. That did some damage!
Gerber has been working on his boxing with his coaches at UnderGround Training Facility in the buildup to the fight.
Gerber throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sheven stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gerber misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Sheven counters with a straight right hand.
Sheven throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Sheven slips a jab from Gerber.
Sheven only half commits to the counter leg kick.

Oooh a lovely combination from Sheven sends Gerber down but not out. Sheven dives into side control looking to finish.

Gerber is rocked!

It looks like Romulus Gerber has been cut.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Sheven in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Oh Gerber is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sheven just content to control the position.
Gerber seems to have got his legs back now.
Gerber is looking to regain half guard here but Sheven keeps moving and retains side control.
Gerber controls the position for a moment.

Sheven throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Sheven has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sheven advances to full mount.

Gerber is squirming around, avoiding Sheven's attempts to control the action.
Gerber wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Sheven has got his arm under Gerber's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Gerber has spun round into Sheven's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Sheven is pulling down on Gerber's head. It's preventing any offense from Gerber, at least for the moment.
Gerber's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Gerber passes Sheven's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Gerber is controlling the pace.
Sheven wants to improve his position but Gerber is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sheven works his way to full guard. Good work.
Sheven looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gerber controls from within his opponent's guard.
Gerber tries to stand but Sheven is controlling from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sharven Sheven dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Romulus Gerber's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Sheven swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sharven Sheven is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gerber looks for the body kick but Sheven saw that one coming.
Nice shot by Sheven.
Sheven shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gerber but Gerber pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gerber. Sheven does a little dance to reset his feet.
Gerber takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Sheven gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sheven is trying to control. Gerber wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gerber has a hand on Sheven's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Sheven takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Gerber wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Sheven.
Sheven is trying to control here but Gerber has managed to regain half guard.

Sheven wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gerber keeps working.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sheven throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Sheven wants to take a breather but Gerber is having none of it.
Gerber desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Sharven Sheven has got the better of the ground game so far.
Gerber pushes Sheven off looking to stand but Sheven dives back in and keeps control.
Sheven is keen to just control but Gerber is a slippery customer.
Gerber is in trouble now - Sheven has advanced to mount!
Sheven trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Gerber is trying to escape the mount.
Sheven tries to control but Gerber wriggling away.
Gerber holds on for dear life, controlling Sheven's posture momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sheven can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gerber is looking to escape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sheven cracks Gerber with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Sheven has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gerber's face.
BOOM! Sheven connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Sheven prevents Gerber from getting the reversal.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Poor strikes thrown by Sheven there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Sheven misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Sheven looking to control but Gerber is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Sharven Sheven showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Gerber misses with an uppercut

and Gerber is countered with a crisp right hand from Sheven that sends him to the canvas! Sheven follows him to the mat into side control.
Gerber can't do much from the bottom here.

Sheven wants to work for an arm triangle but Gerber is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sheven is nestled in close to Gerber, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gerber has his hands clasped together around Sheven's back. He's all about the action.
Gerber is trying to control but can't.
Sheven sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gerber defending well though.
Romulus Gerber has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A nice leg kick from Gerber, right into the meat of the thigh.
Sheven takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Gerber looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Romulus Gerber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gerber on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sheven. Sheven obviously looking to wear him down.
Sheven lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The fighters circle momentarily. Gerber darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Gerber connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sheven. Sheven circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Gerber catches Sheven with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Sheven lands a nice shot that snaps Gerber's head back.
Sheven throws a hook to the side of Gerber's head but Gerber sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Sheven walks into a stiff left hand from Gerber.
Gerber misses with a wild combination.

Sheven chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gerber can pounce on him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gerber throws a right hand that Sheven ducks under and follows up with a left that Sheven also avoids with ease.
Gerber throws a head kick but Sheven moves out of range.

Sheven darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sheven with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Gerber keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Sheven looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Sharven Sheven.
Well Sheven has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
