Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toson Yada (ranked 3786 p4p, 2905 weight class) and Marcus Kempton (ranked 464 p4p, 379 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Toson Yada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Kempton!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.

Yada misses with a leg kick
and Kempton counters with a solid body kick.
Kempton slips a jab from Yada.
Kempton tries to clinch up but Yada circles away and keeps his distance.

Kempton closes the distance and pushes Yada back into the cage.
Kempton misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Kempton misses with an elbow strike.
Yada takes an elbow to the temple.

Yada breaks the clinch.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Kempton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yada throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kempton tries to clinch up.
Kempton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yada paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Yada is looking for a counter combo.

Yada throws a chopping leg kick but Kempton manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Kempton replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Yada blocks it well.
Kempton takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Kempton tries to clinch there but Yada circles away.
Yada attempts a counter takedown but Kempton avoids it well and moves away.
Yada throws a leg kick that misses.
Kempton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kempton appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Yada closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kempton circles away.
Kempton replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Yada blocks it well.
Yada fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Toson Yada. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yada throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Kempton throws a counter combo.

Yada tries to keep at a distance but Kempton has taken the fight into the clinch.
Yada wants a takedown.
Yada is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kempton is defending well for now.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Kempton is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Kempton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kempton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kempton leaves Yada with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kempton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Yada throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kempton's waist but Kempton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yada off to one side.
Kempton shapes to counter with a head kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Yada is trying to pull guard but Kempton has him pressed against the cage.

Kempton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Yada drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Yada takes an elbow to the temple.
The referee is keeping an eye on Kempton - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Kempton creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Yada managing to block the knees to the body from Kempton.
Kempton lands a nice elbow.
Kempton has Yada pressed against the cage, preventing Yada from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Yada is trying to maintain a safe position but Kempton gets an underhook and turns Yada into the cage.
Yada fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kempton pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Kempton struggles to land a body shot inside as Yada controls his hands.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kempton misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kempton misses with a body punch.

Kempton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kempton tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Yada counters with a nice body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Kempton dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kempton moves out of range of the leg kick from Yada.
Toson Yada is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kempton misses with an attempted mid kick.
Kempton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Yada circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kempton misses with the body kick

and Yada counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Yada wants to take a breather but Kempton is having none of it.
Yada looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Kempton looks like he's trying to stand up.

Yada throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kempton is not content to let Yada control the position.
Kempton wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yada is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kempton doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Yada.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Yada is looking for a kimura but Kempton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Yada to get the leverage.
Kempton looks like he's trying to stand up.
Yada trying to control the action but Kempton is working from the bottom.
Yada perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Yada is keen to just control but Kempton is a slippery customer.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Yada is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kempton is just riding it out for now. Yada eventually gives up the hold.

Yada is stalling here. Kempton is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Yada seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kempton has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Kempton pushes off an throws an elbow but Yada leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Yada is trying to break the clinch but Kempton has him pressed against the cage.
Yada wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kempton has him pressed against the cage.
Kempton misses with a punch to the body.
Kempton is trying to maintain a safe position but Yada gets an underhook and turns Kempton into the cage.
Kempton has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Yada seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Kempton can turn it around.

Kempton is looking to escape.
Yada is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Yada's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
