Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Malcom Farquharson (ranked 7182 p4p, 5704 weight class) and Darius Dawn (ranked 553 p4p, 492 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The crowd cheers as Farquharson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dawn doesn't seem phased though.
Farquharson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Farquharson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Farquharson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dawn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Dawn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Farquharson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Farquharson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Farquharson thinks about countering with a head kick.
Dawn moves out of range of the body kick from Farquharson.
Farquharson moves into the clinch.
I was talking to Farquharson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Farquharson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dawn lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
It looks like Malcom Farquharson has been cut.
Farquharson has taken the fight to the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dawn lands a left hand that snaps the head of Farquharson backwards.

Farquharson creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dawn's defenses.

and Farquharson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dawn walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Dawn misses with a body shot.
Farquharson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Farquharson there as he acknowledges the shot.
Dawn lands a nice leg kick that just misses Farquharson's sensitive parts.
Farquharson closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Farquharson digs a right hand underneath Dawn's ribcage. Dawn let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Farquharson breaks the clinch.
A lazy left from Dawn finds it's target.
Farquharson throws a lazy uppercut
and Dawn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Farquharson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Dawn checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Dawn fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Farquharson checks it well.
Dawn cracks Farquharson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Farquharson is rocked!
Farquharson misses with the combination.
Farquharson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dawn is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dawn's corner calls for a 1-2. Dawn obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Malcom Farquharson's cut is getting worse.
Farquharson throws a nice looking combination but Dawn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Farquharson looks to land a right hand but Dawn moved out of range.
Dawn connects with a leg kick.
Farquharson misses with a hook. Dawn ducked under it nicely.
Darius Dawn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Farquharson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dawn finds it's way round the side to connect with Farquharson's head.
Oh Farquharson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dawn closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Farquharson! Dawn dives in looking to finish! Farquharson is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Darius Dawn!
Darius Dawn bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
