Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pekka Toivonen (ranked 15 p4p, 111 weight class) and Frank Stein (ranked 4 p4p, 14 weight class). Stein comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Red - Falling Sky kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

and Stein counters with a left to the body.
Decent striking displayed by Toivonen there.
Pekka Toivonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Toivonen works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Stein on the wrong end of a nice hook.

and Stein makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Stein throws a nice looking combination but Toivonen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Toivonen feints and then cracks Stein's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stein down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stein drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Stein throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Stein looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Toivonen is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Stein misses with some punches.
Stein blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Toivonen can't find room to land a body shot as Stein controls the action.
Stein lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Stein prevents a body shot from Toivonen.
I was talking to Toivonen's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Toivonen avoiding damage.
Toivonen presses Stein against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Toivonen creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Stein blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Toivonen blocks the elbow strike.
Stein creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Toivonen's defenses.

Toivonen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stein on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Toivonen throws a good cross that connects.

and Stein counters with a big head kick but Toivonen shrugs it off.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Toivonen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Toivonen connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Stein's hands.
Stein slips under a jab.
Stein throws a fast counter high kick but Toivonen manages to duck under it in time.
Nice shot lands for Toivonen.

Stein is rocked!
Toivonen closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Stein! Toivonen dives in looking to finish! Stein is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
