Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mattias Lundgren (ranked 2140 p4p, 25677 weight class) and Thomas Jordan (ranked 294 p4p, 811 weight class). Thomas Jordan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mattias Lundgren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Jordan!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.

Jordan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Jordan tries to hold on but Lundgren pushes him away.
Jordan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lundgren. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lundgren stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Jordan is looking to stand back up but Lundgren counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Jordan.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jordan won't allow Lundgren to pass to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jordan pushes Lundgren off but Lundgren dives into side control.

Lundgren works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Lundgren is working Jordan over with some ground and pound from side control.
Lundgren will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Lundgren is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jordan has escaped the position, nice work there.

Lundgren goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jordan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lundgren but great work by Jordan.
Jordan wants to control but Lundgren is keeping him busy.
Lundgren manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Jordan looking to sit in guard and control but Lundgren gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lundgren is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Lundgren sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jordan's guard.
Jordan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lundgren has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lundgren looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jordan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jordan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lundgren.

Mattias Lundgren is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jordan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Lundgren takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jordan enables Lundgren to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jordan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jordan sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Lundgren manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Lundgren tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jordan defends well and Lundgren ends up having to push Jordan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Thomas Jordan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

As Lundgren backs off Jordan throws a huge counter combo but Lundgren manages to avoid it all.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mattias Lundgren. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lundgren closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jordan's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Lundgren counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jordan won't be happy with that.
We've been hearing good reports from Lundgren's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mattias Lundgren!
Mattias Lundgren decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
