Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Doms (ranked 1225 p4p, 1631 weight class) and Konichiwa Jempsa (ranked 142 p4p, 194 weight class). The key to victory for Frankie Doms has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frankie Doms!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Konichiwa Jempsa!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.

Jempsa takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Doms throws a half hearted mid kick.
Jempsa walks forward, straight into a front kick from Doms.
Doms throws the kick towards the body but Jempsa avoids it.
Jempsa shoots in but no luck this time.
Doms throws a quick counter head kick but Jempsa was just out of range.
Doms defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jempsa.
Doms connects with a solid leg kick.

and Jempsa counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jempsa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doms swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A close round but Konichiwa Jempsa will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jempsa is landing with some decent strikes but Doms is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Doms's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Jempsa cracks Doms with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jempsa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Konichiwa Jempsa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jempsa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Doms with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
