Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Israel Hands (ranked 1429 p4p, 173 weight class) and Ralphie Maldonado (ranked 1276 p4p, 159 weight class). Hands's entrance music is A Collection of Sea Shanties. A fine choice. Israel Hands is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Israel Hands!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ralphie Maldonado!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldonado throws a good cross that connects.
Maldonado throws an off balance right hand
and Hands counters with a nice leg kick.
Hands takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Hands with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Maldonado to score with a decent uppercut.
Hands throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hands moves away from the strike by Maldonado.
It appears Hands was looking to counter with a kick there.
A telegraphed right hand from Hands misses the target.
Hands slips a straight right by Maldonado.
Maldonado looks to land a right hand but Hands moved out of range.
Hands throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hands takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Maldonado takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Hands throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hands.

Maldonado's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hands keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Maldonado.

Hands drops Maldonado with a big left hand and mounts him. Maldonado is in big trouble!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hands wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Maldonado is still in real trouble! Can Hands finish him?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maldonado seems to have recovered his senses.

Hands just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Hands goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Maldonado escapes and is now in half guard on top.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The fighters circling - Maldonado throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hands was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Hands ducks right into an uppercut from Maldonado.
Maldonado misses with a lunging right hand
and Hands counters with a nice uppercut.
Maldonado pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hands fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Maldonado.
Maldonado might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Hands uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Maldonado.
Maldonado lands a nice shot that snaps Hands's head back.

and Hands counters with a shoot takedown. Maldonado fights it but they end up in guard.
Hands stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maldonado swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hands wants to pass the guard but Maldonado is keeping the position.
Hands trying to control the position from guard on top but Maldonado is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hands is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
