Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Bell (ranked 333 p4p, 53 weight class) and Brutus Leagatius (ranked 594 p4p, 82 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Doug Bell has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Doug Bell seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doug Bell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brutus Leagatius!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Topper Green and Ron Honeybunn.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leagatius misses with a wild body shot.
Leagatius throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
It looked like Bell was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Leagatius.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Leagatius tries a head kick but it misses.
Bell steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Leagatius.
Bell half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Bell shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Leagatius connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leagatius is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bell.
A counter left hand to the body from Bell misses its target.
Leagatius works the jab nicely.

Bell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Leagatius! But no joy.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Leagatius has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Leagatius throws a leg kick but Bell moved away.

and Leagatius counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bell shoots in for a takedown but Leagatius shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bell misses the body punch
and Leagatius counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bell looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Bell ducks right into an uppercut from Leagatius.
Leagatius is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Leagatius misses with the combination.

Leagatius throws a right and a left that both miss.
Leagatius tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bell was well out of range. Poor timing from Leagatius.
Leagatius cracks Bell with a right hand to the side of the head.
Bell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bell walks into a straight right hand from Leagatius.
Leagatius lands with a thumping leg kick.
Leagatius rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Leagatius tests Bell's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Bell misses with a left hand
enabling Leagatius to counter with a crisp jab.
Bell darts in looking for a takedown but Leagatius gets double underhooks and turns Bell into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doug Bell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Leagatius circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Bell drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Leagatius follows Bell to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
