Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abraham Durden (ranked 743 p4p, 96 weight class) and Demetrius Tektas (ranked 561 p4p, 72 weight class). Tektas has chosen Alexander The Great as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abraham Durden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 2, fighting out of New York, Demetrius Tektas!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tektas throws a big shot that misses.
Tektas on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Durden uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tektas.

Tektas just misses with a punch to the body.

Durden scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Tektas's corner calls for a 1-2. Tektas obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Durden takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tektas just trying to survive but Durden is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

What can Tektas do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Tektas is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Abraham Durden is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Tektas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tektas tries to land a sweep but no joy.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Abraham Durden.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Durden, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
