The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Karate gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Zhao to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Zhao's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Zhao content to stall in guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Karate really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zhao. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Zhao slips nicely into half guard.
Karate is in trouble now - Zhao has advanced to mount!
Zhao tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Karate can't escape the position.
Zhao controlling his opponent.

Karate reaches up to try and pull Zhao in and control his posture, but Zhao latches on to an arm and pivots quickly for an armbar! Karate taps out and this one is all over!
