Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Bloodsport!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Sergey Shipilov!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloodsport tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Shipilov counters with a right hand to the body.
Shipilov slaps away a takedown attempt from Bloodsport, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Shipilov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Bloodsport doesn't manage to clinch there - Shipilov circles away.
Shipilov scores with a shot to the body.
Bloodsport misses with a takedown
and Shipilov counters with a thumping low kick.
Shipilov lands a really nice looking cross but Bloodsport seems unphased.
Bloodsport gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bloodsport looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Shipilov lunges at Bloodsport with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bloodsport's hand.
Shipilov pushes Bloodsport away with a front kick.
Shipilov is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Shipilov uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Bloodsport tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shipilov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Bloodsport stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shipilov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Shipilov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shipilov wants to sweep here but Bloodsport controlling him for the moment.

Shipilov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bloodsport gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Shipilov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bloodsport defends it easily.

Bloodsport is pushing down on Shipilov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shipilov is fighting to maintain full guard but Bloodsport has managed to sneak the leg through.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Shipilov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bloodsport can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Shipilov is adopting a defensive guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bloodsport shoots in but no luck this time.
Shipilov scores with a hook.
Shipilov connects with a body shot that sends Bloodsport's belly button to the back.
Shipilov lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Shipilov, right into the meat.
Bloodsport closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Bloodsport dives in and grabs Shipilov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shipilov pushes down on Bloodsport's head and hops out.
Shipilov dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shipilov scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Bloodsport takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Shipilov fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Shipilov scores with the left hand. Bloodsport knows he should have avoided that one.
Shipilov bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bloodsport's head.
Mark Bloodsport is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Shipilov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Bloodsport takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Bloodsport shoots in looking for a takedown but Shipilov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bloodsport's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Shipilov is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Bloodsport with a body shot.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Bloodsport. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shipilov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shipilov lands a left and a right that send Bloodsport crashing to the mat, dazed. Shipilov thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Bloodsport is rocked!


It looks like Mark Bloodsport has been cut.
Bloodsport switches off momentarily and Shipilov cracks him with a monster right hand! Bloodsport topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Shipilov dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Shipilov!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sergey Shipilov!
Sergey Shipilov was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
