The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Medvedevs shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vema's guard.
Medvedevs lands a couple of elbows.
Vema is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Vema trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Medvedevs controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Medvedevs postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Medvedevs is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
It looks like Medvedevs might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vema tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Medvedevs trying to control the pace.
Vema has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Medvedevs is working away from the top position though.
Medvedevs frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Medvedevs has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Vema's face.
Medvedevs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Medvedevs throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Vema has his hands clasped together but Medvedevs breaks the hold and Vema is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Medvedevs!
