Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stanley Kubrick (ranked 1057 p4p, 122 weight class) and Sam Spencer (ranked 2370 p4p, 260 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer lands with a nice body punch.
Spencer lands with an uppercut that bounces Kubrick off the cage and back into range.
Spencer fails to land with a series of punches.
A little feinted left hand from Kubrick on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Kubrick gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Kubrick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Spencer's waist but Spencer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kubrick off to one side.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kubrick darts in and clinches Spencer up against the cage.

Spencer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kubrick will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kubrick feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Spencer wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kubrick manages to pass to side control.

You get the feeling that Spencer really doesn't like being in this position too much.
