Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Uniesky Santaban (ranked 2569 p4p, 306 weight class) and Bob Vendarra (ranked 2219 p4p, 264 weight class). Vendarra is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Metallica - Of Wolf And Man. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santaban throws a right hand that Vendarra ducks under and follows up with a left that Vendarra also avoids with ease.
Vendarra looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Santaban throws a low kick, looking for Vendarra's leg but Vendarra calmly moves out of range.
Vendarra throws out a counter right but Santaban avoids it with no problem.

and Vendarra counters with a nice uppercut.

Santaban lands a left and a right that sends Vendarra crashing to the canvas! Santaban dives into mount looking to finish!

Santaban definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santaban really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Vendarra tries to lock up and control but Santaban gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Santaban's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vendarra is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Vendarra cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Vendarra has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Santaban finds it's way round the side to connect with Vendarra's head.

and Santaban counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Santaban throws out a loose jab but Vendarra uses good head movement to avoid it.
BOOM! Santaban lands a beautiful left hook that drops Vendarra. Vendarra tries to recover but Santaban is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Vendarra lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
