The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gustafson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Wright lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Gustafson at a distance.
Gustafson tries to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Gustafson throws an overhand right that lands on Wright's shoulder, as Wright tries to avoid the shot.
Nice takedown defense from Wright. No joy for Gustafson on that attempt.
Gustafson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Gustafson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wright.
It looked like Gustafson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Wright.
Wright on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Wright scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gustafson doesn't seem bothered though.
Wright ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gustafson moves away.

Alexander Gustafson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wright lands a left and a right that sends Gustafson crashing to the canvas! Wright dives into mount looking to finish!
Wright takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Wright has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gustafson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
