The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xavier scores with a takedown into Riker's guard.
Xavier won't allow Riker to sweep him here.
Riker pulls Xavier in close to prevent any damage.

Riker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Xavier really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Riker trying to control the position from guard on top but Xavier is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Xavier will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Riker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Riker slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Riker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Xavier works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Xavier is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Riker lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Xavier looking for a guillotine here but Riker defends easily.
Riker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Xavier swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Xavier on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Xavier tries to get out of the position.

Xavier has an active guard here but Riker has managed to pass into half guard.

Riker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Xavier . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Riker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Xavier with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Xavier is rocked!
Riker is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Xavier is hurt! He's hurt bad - Riker fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Xavier from any more punishment! Congratulations to Riker! Great finish!

Malcolm Xavier was interviewed post fight and said 'hey this why i am here to lose and win that is why i wont give up.'.
