Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marchiano Giovinazzi (ranked 3479 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abdullah Dawsari (ranked 3181 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Abdullah Dawsari was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abdullah Dawsari!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giovinazzi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dawsari swivels and escapes.

Dawsari darts in and clinches Giovinazzi up against the cage.

Giovinazzi is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dawsari is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Giovinazzi to the mat. Giovinazzi regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Giovinazzi lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Giovinazzi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Giovinazzi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Dawsari working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Giovinazzi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Giovinazzi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Giovinazzi drops back looking for a leg! Dawsari is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dawsari manages to kick Giovinazzi off! Giovinazzi jumps back into Dawsari's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Giovinazzi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dawsari is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Giovinazzi pulls his head out easily.

Giovinazzi is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Dawsari is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
