The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medvedev throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Medvedev scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Medvedev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Medvedev jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Cisse throws a counter combo.
Cisse fails with the takedown.
Medvedev connects with a nice looking jab.
Cisse shoots in looking for a takedown but Medvedev manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cisse's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Sloppy strikes from Medvedev. Those never looked like landing.
Medvedev loads up on a big right hand but Cisse slips the punch.

Medvedev tries to bum rush Cisse with a series of wild strikes but Cisse uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Cisse has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Cisse tries to counter by closing the distance.
Medvedev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Cisse has Medvedev up against the cage in a clinch.
Medvedev is trying to force a seperation but Cisse has the dominant position.
Cisse with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Cisse lands a hook that snaps the head of Medvedev backwards.
Cisse prevents Medvedev from breaking the clinch.
Cisse has Medvedev pressed against the cage, preventing Medvedev from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Medvedev is trying to push Cisse away but Cisse has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Cisse breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Despite the aggression on Cisse's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Cisse is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cisse tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Medvedev manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Medvedev misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Cisse counters with a body kick that stops Medvedev in his tracks momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Medvedev stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Cisse lands with a shot to the body.
Medvedev keeps the fight on the outside.

and Cisse holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Medvedev would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Cisse has control of Medvedev's left arm, preventing Medvedev from doing any damage.

Medvedev stands up from Cisse's guard - Medvedev perhaps looking for a knockout.

Cisse looks for a takedown but Medvedev sprawls well.
