Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ife Edwards (ranked 1053 p4p, 148 weight class) and Meldrick Taylor (ranked 855 p4p, 121 weight class). Edwards comes to the cage accompanied by Damian Marley - Road to Zion. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ife Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Meldrick Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor throws a sloppy head kick and Edwards moves out of range easily.
Taylor misses with a left hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Taylor waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Edwards.
Taylor tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Good exchange - Taylor coming out on top.
Edwards chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Taylor tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Taylor swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Edwards counters with a body kick.

and Edwards counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Edwards is looking to counter with a body kick.
Edwards lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Edwards seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Taylor missing with a left hand there. Edwards was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Taylor connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Edwards thows a body kick. Taylor tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Taylor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Taylor on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Edwards takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Taylor throws a hook but Edwards blocks it.

A nice inside leg kick there by Edwards. That's going to slow Taylor down.
Taylor looks to land a combination but Edwards avoids it well.
Edwards appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Edwards feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Taylors jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Taylor throws a series of punches but Edwards avoids them all with ease.

As Taylor backs away, Edwards returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Edwards pushes Taylor away with a front kick.
Edwards scores with a nice body kick.
Taylor fails to land with a series of punches.
Crunch! Edwards slams his shin into Taylor's torso.
Taylor on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Taylor throws a lazy uppercut
and Edwards counters with a low kick, right behind Taylor 's knee.
Taylor might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Taylor looks winded!
Edwards stuns Taylor with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Meldrick Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taylor throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Edwards counters with an outside leg kick.

Nice jab there from Edwards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Taylor stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Edwards.

Taylor throws a looping overhand right but Edwards ducks down to avoid it.
Taylor throws a poor cross that misses
and Edwards counters with a right hand to the body.
Taylor looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Edwards fires out a quick counter leg kick but Taylor just manages to avoid it.
Taylor works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Taylor throws a right hand that Edwards ducks under and follows up with a left that Edwards also avoids with ease.
Edwards appears to be looking for a big counter.
Edwards throws a sloppy head kick and Taylor moves out of range easily.
Taylor throws out a counter right but Edwards avoids it with no problem.
Edwards showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Taylor.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ife Edwards dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Edwards uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Taylor.
Taylor looks to land a left hand but Edwards moved out of range nicely.
Edwards uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Taylor.
Taylor connects with a body shot that sends Edwards's belly button to the back.
Edwards connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Edwards fails to land with a series of punches.
Taylor looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Edwards is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Taylor can do to turn this around?
Taylor swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Taylor on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Edwards does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and Edwards counters with a good low kick that Taylor was not able to check.

and Edwards counters with a nice body kick.

Taylor is breathing heavily.
Taylor takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Taylor darts in trying to clinch
and Edwards counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Taylor throws a head kick but Edwards moves out of range.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Taylor crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Edwards - the referee stops the clock and Taylor gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Edwards. Taylor manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Edwards lands a leg kick that knocks Taylor off balance momentarily.

Taylor throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Edwards lands a nice leg kick that just misses Taylor's sensitive parts.
Edwards moves into range and connects with a jab.
Sloppy strikes from Taylor. Those never looked like landing.
Edwards lands a jab to Taylor's midsection.

Edwards lands a big head kick that sends Taylor tumbling to the mat! Edwards takes a step backwards and waves Taylor back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Taylor is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Taylor throws a combination that misses
and Edwards counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Taylor out cold! What a finish! Edwards is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ife Edwards!
Ife Edwards really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that The Glue Factory logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
