PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between James Adams (ranked 3005 p4p, 79 weight class) and Arnaldo Silva (ranked 19336 p4p, 177 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Adams might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Thom Pace - Maybe. Adams has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. James Adams has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arnaldo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams throws an overhand right that lands on Silva's shoulder, as Silva tries to avoid the shot.
Silva cracks Adams with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Adams takes a swing at Silva's ribcage but misses.
Adams is breathing heavily.
Silva looks for the body kick but Adams saw that one coming.
Silva lands a jab.
Adams takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A jab from Adams misses.
Silva has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Adams is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Adams wants to clinch.
Silva throws a head kick that Adams semi-blocks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva keeps Adams at a distance using the push kick.
Silva feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Adams's calf.
Silva explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
A chopping leg kick lands by Silva.

Silva lands a front kick to the face, that drops Adams to the canvas! Is he dazed or just shocked? He's back to his feet and the referee is going to allow him to continue the fight!

Adams is rocked!
Silva keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Silva! But no joy.
Oh Adams is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva connects with a solid leg kick.

Silva scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Adams to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Silva away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Adams got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!
Adams tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
Silva tries to counter by closing the distance.
Silva closes the distance and catches Adams with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Adams is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Adams is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Adams is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Silva takes it!

Arnaldo Silva decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
