PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maximilian Rockatansky (ranked 2450 p4p, 290 weight class) and Samuel Orr (ranked 2668 p4p, 305 weight class). Rockatansky's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Victory. Orr is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ricky. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maximilian Rockatansky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Samuel Orr!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orr with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rockatansky to score with a decent uppercut.
Rockatansky throws a right hand that Orr ducks under and follows up with a left that Orr also avoids with ease.
Orr changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Rockatansky fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Orr on the side of the head.

Rockatansky lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Orr sprawling to the canvas. Rockatansky follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Orr hang on?

Orr is rocked!

It looks like Samuel Orr has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Orr looking for submissions off his back.
Orr is still in real trouble! Can Rockatansky finish him?

Orr actively working from the bottom here.

Rockatansky decides to stand up.
Orr seems to have recovered his senses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Orr ducks straight into an uppercut from Rockatansky and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Orr manages to regain guard straight away.
Orr not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rockatansky wanted to stand there but Orr had control of the position.

Orr looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Orr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rockatansky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rockatansky manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Orr is looking for a triangle but Rockatansky pushes his legs off easily.
Orr looks winded!

Orr is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rockatansky is aware though and is defending well.
Rockatansky wants to get up but he can't break Orr's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Rockatansky will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rockatansky avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Rockatansky misses with a two punch combination.
Rockatansky defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Orr.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rockatansky, as that shot connected.

Rockatansky drops Orr with a big left hand and mounts him. Orr is in big trouble!
Orr is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rockatansky stands up from mount. Strange move.
Rockatansky misses with the combination.
Orr backs away from a small jab... but Rockatansky lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Orr crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Rockatansky with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Maximilian Rockatansky!
A very excited looking Maximilian Rockatansky rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
