Fagg's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Shannon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Fagg manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Fagg misses the shot to the body. Shannon steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Fagg. Fagg shoots for a double leg takedown but Shannon sprawls well. He's pushed Fagg's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. No joy there for Fagg, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Fagg decides to pull guard. Fagg wants to sweep here but Shannon controlling him for the moment. Fagg on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fagg tries to get out of the position. Fagg is working hard here to advance position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fagg has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Shannon is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Shannon pulls guard. Fagg throws an elbow that misses. Shannon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fagg's guard. Nice move by Shannon!
