The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos lands a lovely overhand right.
It looks like Makunouchi Ippo has been cut.
Ippo looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Santos's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Santos duly obliges.
Santos tests Ippo's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Santos uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Santos drops Ippo with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ippo looks back up at him and smiles so Santos waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Ippo is rocked!
Santos's coach down at Special Ops N7 Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Santos's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santos fakes the body blow, causing Ippo to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Ippo goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
