Coppola changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lawris looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lawris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coppola. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Coppola has hold of Lawris's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Lawris tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Coppola cranks the arm and Lawris screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Lawris, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Salvatore Coppola opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.

Chung throws a big counter combination but Schmico scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

That was a close round but I would say that Wang Chung will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Schmico tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chung paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Chung takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Chung shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schmico as he jumps to the side.
Chung avoids the head kick by Schmico.

Schmico throws a right and a left that Chung avoids nicely.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Comblin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dixon counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Lee Comblin has been cut.
Lee Comblin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Comblin throws a head kick but Dixon moves out of range.
Dixon throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Dixon looks to score with a jab to the body but Comblin is just out of range.

Comblin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Dixon is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Dixon pushes Comblin up against the cage in a clinch.
Dixon lands a left hand that snaps the head of Comblin backwards.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dixon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Dixon drops Comblin with a beautiful combination! Comblin stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Dixon is looking for the KO!

The cut above Lee Comblin's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Lee Comblin's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Dixon cracks Comblin with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Comblin tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Dixon pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Comblin is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ali Dixon!
