The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winnfield throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Winnfield tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Xcx counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Xcx.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Winnfield looking for a sweep. Not yet Winnfield, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Xcx slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Xcx pushes down on Winnfield's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Xcx has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
