Carlos drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hornby sprawls and moves away.

With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Palakiko!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palakiko throws a combination. Askren tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Ben Askren has been cut.
We've been hearing reports that Askren has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Palakiko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Askren avoids the body shot from Palakiko.

Askren shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Palakiko napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Palakiko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Askren. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Askren is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Askren throws a strike aimed at the side of Palakiko's head but Palakiko avoids it well.

Askren tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Palakiko is in a horrible position here. Askren smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Askren won't let Palakiko get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Askren takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Palakiko takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Daniel Palakiko's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

An intense looking Ben Askren took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'I wanna thanks all the italians that believed in me, I wanna thanks Saklain, I wanna thanks my coaches, and my manager, TEAM ALTIERI is great, it is givin'me a lot. WHERE U AT DIAZ? WHERE U AT? Come on Saklain, you know I deserve the title shot now'.
The defeated Daniel Palakiko had this to say: 'It is what it is, I'll bounce back.'.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Takashi Murakami!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Worish instigates a clinch.
Murakami drops down looking for an ankle pick but Worish pulls his leg out and moves away.
Worish has a takedown stuffed.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Worish is fighting off a takedown attempt but Murakami is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Worish to the mat. Worish regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Worish holds on and takes a little breather.

Murakami throws an elbow that misses. Worish uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Murakami's guard. Nice move by Worish!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Murakami looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Worish not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Murakami is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Worish with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Worish controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Worish is working Murakami over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Worish has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Murakami to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Worish is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Murakami pulls down on the head and he's put Worish to sleep! This one is all over!

Hoffman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Harms is trying to defend but Hoffman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We've been hearing good reports from Harms's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Harms is trying is best to control the position here.
Harms's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Harms is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Hoffman is tapping! Great win for Harms!
