Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lao in particular looking to stall.

jarvae is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

jarvae has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lao is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for jarvae.

Lao's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Oh but jarvae is tightening it up a little... Lao has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lao reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lao taps out! nice BJJ there by jarvae!
