Kibaki is backing up but Owen catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Kibaki covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Owen Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Markus closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cortez to the mat! Cortez manages to get full guard.

Markus drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Markus jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Markus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cortez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Markus has managed to get both his arms back between Cortez's legs - danger averted.
Markus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cortez can't keep his opponent in guard - Markus advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Markus connects with a nice short shot to Cortez's temple.
