The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dio stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dio wants it to stay on the feet.
Fields tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dio paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Nick Dio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nice defenses there by The Eastern Assassin.
Mazone is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Mazone walks into a jab.
The Eastern Assassin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mazone circles away quickly and effectively.
Mazone lands a leg kick that knocks The Eastern Assassin off balance momentarily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mazone.
The Eastern Assassin has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
The Eastern Assassin lands with a good body shot.
The Eastern Assassin scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mazone doesn't seem bothered though.

The Eastern Assassin lands a nice shot that snaps Mazone's head back.
The Eastern Assassin connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Mazone tumbling to the canvas! The Eastern Assassin pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Mazone was done - good stoppage!

Murray chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Venables can pounce on him.

Both fighters circling a little - Venables finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Phoenix enables Kuusi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Phoenix manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
