The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hofferman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Garcio pushes down on Hofferman's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing good reports from Hofferman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Garcio turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Hofferman off and cradles Garcio's limp body as Hofferman celebrates with his corner.

Undercard bout

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shay Deeh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shay Deeh had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 187.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Scott throws a monster overhand right that drops Deeh! Scott follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Attilius counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Stamatis badly! Attilius follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Stamatis out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Attilius finished him against the cage.
