These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Cell is looking to score with low kicks.
Cell connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Nichols's hands.
Cell misses with an uppercut
and Nichols connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nichols. Cell does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nichols on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Nichols changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cell tries to avoid it but Nichols manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cell to the ground. Cell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cell throws a head kick that Nichols semi-blocks.

Nichols will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Oh Nichols is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nice sprawl there from Cell as Nichols shoots in.
Nichols seems to have got his legs back now.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cell.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Cell, right into the meat.
Cell lands with a hook. Nichols tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Stem Cell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cell dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nichols. That did some damage!
Cell feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nicholss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Nichols swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stem Cell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Cell! Nichols is out on his feet! Cell rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Nichols is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Nichols is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stem Cell! Stem Cell retains his bantamweight title!

Bach Js seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Js lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Niedzwiedzki displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Js.
Js thows a body shot but no joy.
Niedzwiedzki scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Js connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Niedzwiedzki's hands.
