I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kenneth Shamrock was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Aldeen counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Aldeen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shamrock doesn't seem bothered though.
Shamrock should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Aldeen closes the distance and pushes Shamrock back into the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Doe throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Benson on the side of the head.

Doe lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Benson is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Doe with him. Doe is trying to defend but Benson has an arm under the chin now! Doe grimaces and is forced to tap out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dragon avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rei connects with a solid leg kick.
Rei doesn't manage to clinch there - Dragon circles away.
Rei connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dragon. Dragon circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Don Dragon has been cut.
Rei scores with a hook to the body. Dragon takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Dragon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rei.
Rei bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rei feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Dragon sprawling to the canvas! Dragon rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Rei finish him?!

That has opened up Don Dragon's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dragon looks to land a strike but Rei avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Rei is pulling down on Dragon's head. It's preventing any offense from Dragon, at least for the moment.

Rei is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
