Undercard bout

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tong Po (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tong Po!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Po with that takedown attempt.
Po shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Davis pinned against the cage. Davis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Davis.
Po tries for a takedown but Davis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Stephen Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tong Po.

Davis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Po had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Davis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Po Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Davis's back instead.

Po has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Davis has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Po is trying to stick to Davis's back but Davis is turning into Po. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Po's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Davis.
Po bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Davis's guard.

Po postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Davis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Po, into his guard.
Davis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Po on the ground.
Davis wanted to stand there but Po had control of the position.

Po is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Davis won't allow Po to sweep him here.

Po has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Davis stands up and waves to Po to follow him.
Davis throws a series of strikes that have Po backpedaling.
Po shoots in looking for a takedown. Davis tries to sprawl out of it but Po keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Davis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Davis throws a shot from downtown. Po moves away and avoids it.
Po looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Davis misses with a wild combination.

Davis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Po as he jumps to the side.
Davis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Po shoots for a double leg takedown but Davis sprawls well. He's pushed Po's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Davis has a takedown stuffed.
Po shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davis but Davis pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Davis has closed the distance and engaged Po in a clinch.
Davis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Po is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Davis gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Po.

Po is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Davis can't fight it off and eventually Po manages to take the fight to the floor. Davis looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Po has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Davis. Oh but Po has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Davis goes limp - he's gone! Po jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

SP misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
George SP seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crappler smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Crappler throws a combination but it was largely blocked by SP.
Crappler circles away from the clinch attempt.

SP lands a high kick to the side of Crappler's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! SP dives into guard, looking to finish.

It looks like King Crappler has been cut.
SP wants to stand but Crappler is controlling his posture from full guard.

SP has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Crappler to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! SP is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Crappler pulls down on the head and he's put SP to sleep! This one is all over!

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Travis Crimson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crimson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Stick Stickly. Johnson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dethklok - The Gears kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Todd Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Steve Hill struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. White shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with De Rick but De Rick pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Arne De Rick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

De Rick looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks White with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

White swings around for an armbar but De Rick sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into White's guard.
White not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
De Rick wants to control from the top but White keeps moving.
De Rick has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

White decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on De Rick, up you get!

De Rick gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Arne De Rick will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


White keeps the fight on the outside.
De Rick throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
De Rick throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
White keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from De Rick.
White staying out of range there.
White closes this distance looking for a takedown but De Rick circles away.

and White counters with a nice double leg into guard.
White stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De Rick swivels though and keeps the full guard.

White drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but De Rick manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now White has De Rick in his guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

White has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. De Rick is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for White.

White wants to get back to his feet.
White is looking for a sweep.
White is trying to escape the position but De Rick is controlling the position.
De Rick gets to mount! White was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
White tries to hold on but De Rick postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

White is desperately trying to improve his position but De Rick has a good base and remains in mount.
White is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
White wants to control but De Rick is having none of it.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
De Rick takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

I would just about give that final round to Jake White.

That was a close round but I would say that Cam Stroud will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Juggernaut decides to stand back up. Juggernaut steps back and let's Dragonov get back to his feet.
Oh Dragonov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Juggernaut drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Dragonov's head, knocking him out cold! Juggernaut is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
