TWD 39: Ferreira vs Oliveira
Organization: The Wild Den(150k+)
Date: 10 Nov 2012
City: Rio de Janeiro
Arena: Flamengo Arena (6,000)

Papito: Good day tycooners! It's time for another episode of TWD: Inside the Den! You're joined with your hosts, Tony Kazarian, and yours truly, Papa Papito! Unfortunately, this will be the last episode of TWD: Inside the Den for now because I have classes again in school and I've been doing a lot recently. As you can see I've been doing all the things in the org and I guess I can't keep up with writing for the events.

Kazarian: Sad to hear that, but I guess it's farewell yet?

Papito: Ofcourse not. We'll be hosting the show again once my schedule gets lighter. Let's get this started!

MAIN CARD

Jay Hendo vs Palito Gomez

Papito: I've got to give a lot of props to these guys. They both took the fight on short-notice. Coming from different styles, it's going to be a tough match for the both of them.

Kazarian: I always got a lot of respect for fighters and managers that accept short-notice fights. Of course they still have the right to decline but this fight has neither advantage on either side. Anyway, Hendo is a fine grappler. He's currently on a bad streak after winning three straight victories over tough opponents.

Papito: Gomez was once a top heavyweight here in TWD. I guess he never really cracked the glass ceiling. He recently got knocked out by arguably the best boxer in TWD, Zack Dio. Gomez is a good striker with a weakness in his ground game. That's where his opponent is strong. And his strength is his opponent's weakness. That's what makes this exciting. Who do you think will win this one? I got Gomez by KO.

Kazarian: I'll go with Hendo by Submission. But the knock out punch will come earlier than the takedown if the striker is Gomez, but I'll still root for a Hendo win.

Julio Calbrentes vs Matheus Felipe

Papito: Looks like Calbrentes has got the edge in this one. He's facing a winless opponent but it doesn't mean it will be a sure-win for him. Calbrentes is a good fighter. A good talent for the stacked featherweight division. He has fought some of the top talents in the featherweight division, albeit losing to Nathan Redmond and Marcos Silva.

Kazarian: Meanwhile, his opponent Felipe is a fine muay thai fighter. He failed three times on earning his first win. Well, he is a determined fighter. This fight shows that whomever he faces, he'll never back down and fighting against a superior fighter makes his first win sweeter - if he gets it. As like what I said before, never count out a win-hungry competitor. It's not the feeling that "you want to win", it's "how hungry you are to win". Felipe by Decision.

Papito: Calbrentes by KO here.

Jordan "Monster" Mutch vs Gideon Draper

Papito: Ahhh, a fine match-up with Draper getting the edge in wrestling. Mutch has been impressive on his tenure in TWD. He's been and has finished his fights in two out of three bouts. He's a great talent and has a bright future in him. Another highly touted prospect in my opinion.

Kazarian: I agree with your thoughts of him on having a bright future in TWD. He just needs to keep his focus. His opponent is a very dangerous opponent! Gideon Draper finished his first fight in the first round by an impressive armbar! Makes my buddy Xavier Styles proud. Draper hasn't been tested enough in the deep waters of TWD. This will be his first big obstacle and if he gets past it, looks like he'll be taking the featherweight division by storm!

Papito: Going through the featherweight division is not an easy one. But I get the point that he might explode on the scene. He's a very versatile fighter. I think he'll make Mutch submit in this one. Draper via Submission.

Kazarian: Contary to your belief, I think Mutch will knock him out in this one. We'll see. Mutch via KO.

CO-MAIN EVENT

Lucas "Bricklayer" Pereira vs Dois Pra Um

Papito: Co-main event time folks! Another featherweight match-up in this one. Pereira is an undefeated prospect that finished all of his three fights in TWD. He's looking to move up on the card by beating the experienced veteran Dois Pra Um. Pra Um had a very rough start in TWD. Gaining a record of 0-3-1. He's a great fighter and I think he needs to have more focus on his game plan.

Kazarian: I still believe Pra Um can get himself back up and be his awesome self again. He's not that old yet but he still has it to show what he can do to these youngsters.

Papito: Pereira has a good striking game. Combined with his iron fists, he really is a dangerous fighter in TWD. His weakness is his ground game, where Pra Um is better than him. If Pra Um can capitalize if this goes down on the ground, then maybe he can finally end his slide in TWD. I'll go with Pra Um by Submission.

Kazarian: I'll go with the youngster. Pereira by KO.

MAIN EVENT

"Storm" Antonio Carlos Ferreira vs Edinaldo "Lula" Oliveira

Papito: This is it. The knock out power in this match-up is too much to handle. The current champion versus the first-ever TWD Heavyweight Champion! It's surprising that this will be the first time that they'll ever meet in the cage.

Kazarian: After dominating the heavyweight division for a long time, Oliveira worked his way up after suffering a devastating loss against the then challenger, Zack Dio, whom he evened the score 1-1 in their previous fight. Oliveira is a tremendous fighter and with the odds stacked against him in this one, you can never count out these tough heavyweights. They're always unpredictable.

Papito: Yeah. Ferreira has been a great champion. Still undefeated at 7-0, he's looking at Oliveira to be his next victim. He waits for the right moment and approaches a more technical form of fighting. He may not be the run and gun type of fighter that shoots off right away, he still gets it done. Very brilliant in my opinion.

Kazarian: That's a great strategy. With his great striking skills, it is very tough to stand toe-to-toe with this guy. If you have good takedown offense, take him down and try to outplay him in that area, but that's not the case with Oliveira. Oliveira should look for his knock out punch but he should be wary of Ferreira's onslaught. Your only hope is the eye of the storm if you don't take him out fast enough. I'll root for the champion. Ferreira by KO.

Papito: Same. Ferreira by KO. And by the way Mr. Oliveira, Mr. Dio says whatever happens he'll be waiting for the grudge match after this fight. He'll be watching the fight at cage side.

Papito: I guess that's a wrap for now.

Kazarian: I guess. So, see you next season?

Papito: Of course man!

Kazarian: Good luck in your endeavors man!

Papito: Thanks Tony. Well, that's it folks. Our last episode for now. We'll be back as soon as I get a lighter schedule. Thanks for always tuning up to our show. We're your hosts, Tony Kazarian and Papa Papito saying good day and happy tycooning!
