HERO 42: Mustonen vs McDaniels Preview

Event Preview: HERO 42: Mustonen vs McDaniels
HERO FC
2012-11-07, Helsinki, Malmi Sportshall
Author:Bel Ciganin

Greetings to all of you, waiting for my awesome preview of another epic event that HERO FC is putting out there just for your entertainment. We’ve gathered here to take a closer look at the 9 match ups that are featured in HERO 42: Mustonen vs McDaniels. We have Joonas Mustonen confronting Shazaam Mcdaniels for the second time, this time for the bantamweight title in the main event. I guarantee you those two greedy bastards will do everything in their powers to get the gold in their possession which will no doubt prove to be very eye-pleasing so bring everyone you can, even your grandparents and children to witness that legendary clash. The place is the Malmi Sportshall in Helsinki as usual so BE there.  Okay let’s break some fights down:
Preliminary fights:
Aku "Ankka" Juhtanen (4-7-0) v White Widow (5-6-0)
Featherweight
We kick off the night with two guys who are riding on heavy losing streaks. Widow will make his HERO debut and will look to do it with a win, while Juhtanen will try to prove he deserves to fight in the org so both guys will give their best in this one.

Tommi "T-bomb" Talentti (4-3-0) v Carlos "Latin Lidell" Martinez (2-6-0)
Featherweight
Talentti got KOed brutally last time out and will look to put that past him with a win tonight, bur Martinez will show he is not intimidated and will do anything in his power to get his hand raised.

"Iron Fist" Jason Rogers (3-1-0) v Pyry Perkele (4-3-0)
Heavyweight
Rogers will make his HERO debut and will try to show why he’s called “Iron Fist”. His opponent, Pyry Perkele will give him a very rude welcoming in order to get the victory and bounce back from the loss he was handed last time out.

"Subway" Teemu Yumma (6-4-0) v Bruno Dantibo (2-3-0)
Welterweight
Yumma has put aside his grinding ways and has KOed his last opponent. Will he do that against another HERO newcomer in the face of Dantibo, who is a very talented grappler remains to be seen.
Main card:
Kaheli Sonni (3-2-0) v Arttu Attila (3-5-0)
Welterweight
We mark the start of the main card action with a welterweight clash between Kaheli Sonni and Arttu Attila. Sonni has shown he is a very versatile fighter as he has wins by descision, knock out and submission so Attila has to watch out regardless of where this fight goes. Arttu on the other hand relies mainly on his masterful grappling and will probably look to set the scores with his opponent on the ground. Both guys won their last fights and are looking to build on those victories, but that is only possible for one of them. We will soon find out who will get his 4th career victory and will move up the ladder and who will go back to mediocrity?
Randy West (4-2-0) v "The Fireball" Gomi Bakanori (4-2-0)
Lightweight
Next one is in the lightweight division where Randy West will lock horns with Gomi Bakanori. Those two have indentical records with 4 wins and 2 losses and will meet for the second time in their professional careers. The first one played out in “The Fireball’s” favour as he flattened West for only 5 seconds into the first round. There are indications this might play out differently this time around as Randy has won his last 3 outings and Bakanori lost his last one. I have the feeling that we’ll be in for a real slugfest but Randy might mix it up with takedowns because he knows that Bakanori has bombs in his hands from personal experience (really unpleasant on top of that).
Joonas Muikku (4-0-0) v Jango Fett (5-1-0)
Lightweight
We are staying in the lightweight division where Joonas Muikku puts his undefeated record on the line against the QFC tournament semi-finalist Jango Fett in a collision of massive proportions. Muikku’s stiking is a real threat for anyone standing in front of him and Fett is no exception although he brings a lot to the table with his wrestling and relentless ground and pound. One could make the argument that this is a battle of styles as both guys are very proficient in their favoured aspects of the game so the outcome of the fight will most likely be decided by the position it take place in. Fett definitely has the ability to put Muikku on his back but will he do that without losing his teeth is something else.
Hans Olson (5-1-0) v Juan "JDS" Dos Santos (8-3-0)
Bantamweight. Co-main event.
What better way to warm up for the main event than a bantamweight tilt between two former n1 contenders. Hans Olson and Juan “JDS” Dos Santos have had 4 title shots in total losing all of them with that being their only losses to this point. That is soon going to change because one of those guys is going down at the expense of the other and knowing those guys’ style, I can’t wait for it! Hans Olson has proved he is a top dog and has made short work of lots of high quality opponents using his wrestling abilities and wicked top game, but tonight I’d say going to the ground will be a great risk, because when it comes to grappling Juan Dos Santos is up there with the best there is. He has achieved all of his wins by form of submission. This might make Olson show more of his striking game as he might look to stand and trade with “JDS”. He has proved he has KO power so Santos has to be really careful if he doesn’t want to get caught and hit the deck like a sack of potatoes.
"Jose" Joonas Mustonen (8-3-0) v "Shhhhhazzzam" Shazaam McDaniels (7-5-0)
Bantamweight. Title fight! Main event!
The final bout of the evening bring joy to every fight fan there is. I’m tellin’ you this is the kind of fight that you go back to in those cold winter nights to bring warmth to your hearth… I got a bit carried away here, sorry! So, Joonas Mustonen, the most well rounded man in the business and the possessor of the coolest beard ever, has come to deliver punishment and seek revenge against the former boxer Shazaam McDaniels.  Shazaam put his hands to great use and kicked a lot of ass after some quite hard times earlier in his career. His opponent tonight, the champion, “Jose” is well aware of his heavy strikes as he fell a victim to them in some mere 26 seconds in the 1st round in their first outing. This time Mustonen is determined to do better because he made the necessary changes after that loss and has been nothing but perfect since. It was clearly the turning point of his career and opened his eyes in a lot of ways, showing him that he needs to work hard in order to benefit from his unlimited potential and that is exactly what he did. I am not sure “Shhhhhazzzam” will be impressed by that. He beat him once and will try to do that again. After all, all he needs is one clear punch. Mustonen might have more ways to obtain victory, but McDaniels has overcome adversity his entire career and he is in no way thinking of backing down.
Thank you! Peace!
