TWD Aggression 8 Preview

Event Preview: TWD Aggression 8
The Wild Den(150k+)
2012-10-31, Rio de Janeiro, Hard Knocks - Rio
Author:Papa Papito

Papito: Good day folks! It's time for another episode of TWD: Inside the Den! Here are your hosts, Tony Kazarian and yours truly, Papa Papito. Tonight's event will feature an elimination match-up between two top middleweights for the championship tournament and in the main event, a debut of an undefeated prospect looking to take the welterweight division by storm.

Kazarian: Awesome event Paps, You must've been talking about Thi Santanna. I'm thrilled to see what he can bring to the welterweight division. Can he be a top contender for Jecht's title?

Papito: It remains to be seen, but Jecht also has an upcoming fight against an improved Ozuma Obata! But we'll discuss about that in their event episode. Let's get this going!

MAIN CARD

"Smooth" James Lee vs Georges "Rush" St Pierre

Papito: James Lee has had a bad start in his MMA career, losing all three of his fights, but don't lose hope James Lee, some of the greats have had a rough start in their career.

Kazarian: That's a tough situation for Lee, but for now, he needs to focus on his fight against St Pierre. St Pierre has been successful on his debut, knocking out his opponent in the first round. He needs to showcase his boxing skills on this fight.

Papito: With all of Lee's losses, atleast he's never been knocked out. But he must outplay St Pierre. He can't rely on his granite chin if he can't hit Pierre. I'll go with St Pierre in this one. By KO.

Kazarian: Due to Lee's woes, I'll also go with St Pierre. By KO.

Clyde "The Reaper" Renato vs "Fish" Jose Paru

Papito: Interesting match-up in this one. Both fighters are equally skilled with Renato gaining an edge on the ground with his brown belt.

Kazarian: Both can finish while standing or on the ground. It will just go with whoever has the better game plan wins this fight.

Papito: They both have good chin. Plus Renato's been successful on his TWD debut against Matheus Maliwnowski, knocking him out on the first round. Good showing by Renato.

Kazarian: Paru's a homegrown talent of TWD and I'm proud of how good he has become. But he still needs to prove himself to be a top contender in TWD. Renato's a good one if he may. But Renato's no walk in the park. He must be very careful. I'll go with Paru in this one. Via Decision.

Papito: I'll root for Renato. By KO.

Michael "Pitbull" Alves vs "Mongoose" Anton Seeberg

Papito: Man, Alves had a rough start in TWD, but good for him, he won his last fight against Silva Diaz. Diaz is arguably the toughest he had fought in TWD recently but here comes his next obstacle, Anton Seeberg. Moongose won a tough fight in his previous fight against Takatukka, earning the Fight of the Night honors.

Kazarian: Do you think Alves can keep up with Seeberg's Muay Thai?

Papito: With all due respect, I don't think so. He needs to stay away from the clinch. Seeberg is very dangerous in the clinch.

Kazarian: I guess the only option is by taking this to the ground. But unfortunately, he hasn't submitted anyone yet. This is a very very tough situation for Alves.

Papito: Well, Alves is a tought competitor. Don't think he'll give this one away easily, but I'll go with Seeberg via KO.

Kazarian: Same man, same. Seeberg via KO.

CO-MAIN EVENT

Mister "o Colecionador de Ossos" Chicletinho vs "Thrilling" Barry Badridge

Papito: Co-main event time! It's the first fight of the four man elimination tournament for the vacant middleweight championship.

Kazarian: Chicletinho has been very successful in TWD. Winning all but one of his fights, wherein he lost against the former middleweight champion. He's one hell of a submission machine! But he's fighting against Barry Badrige. A very versatile fighter that can slug and brawl or grappler with you.

Papito: If there's one thing we learned from Chicletinho's first loss, it was his weakness is his striking department. And that's one thing Badridge is good about. Slugging it out. The odds are against Chicletinho if he can't take Badridge down. Badrige will beat Chicletinho if he manages to foil of of his takedown attempts.

Kazarian: Badridge may be the favorite in this one but caveat, he must not be too cocky because if Chicletinho takes him down, he's in trouble. I'll pick Badridge here. By KO.

Papito: Badridge by KO.

MAIN EVENT

Robbin Gracie vs Thi "Killer Projetc" Santanna

Papito: Well, the awaited prospect will now debut in TWD. But not against an easy one. Thi Santanna will be debuting against Robbin Gracie. Gracie is on a roll at the moment, being undefeated in TWD with a record of 4-0.

Kazarian: Wow Paps, you'd be surprised if you looked on to his record before TWD. He really fluorished in TWD!

Papito: Definitely, he's been fantastic in TWD and he's looking to improve his record, and maybe line up as a title contender if he keeps this going.

Kazarian: Well, this is his ultimate test in TWD. If he beats an undefeated Santanna, his stocks will definitely skyrocket.

Papito: Santanna is a good talent, winning ten of all his fights and knocking seven out of ten. Looks like he'll be looking for another knock-out in the one. To say the least, Gracie's only been knocked out twice in his career.

Kazarian: If Gracie wants to win this one, he needs to capitalize on his BJJ skills. He's better on the ground, the only question is can he take him down? He can slug it out with Santanna, but he'll have the higher ground if the fights does to the ground. No pun intended. Gracie by Submission.

Papito: I'll go with Santanna for being undefeated. By KO.

Papito: That's all folks! Tune in for another episode of TWD: Inside the Den! I'm Papa Papito.

Kazarian: And I'm Tony Kazarian, saying good day Tycoonverse. See you next time!
