Main event - Lightweight: "The Plainfield Ghoul" Ed Gein 18-3 (6-1 IMMA) vs. Boris "Sensi" Cekada 34-9-1 (6-1 IMMA)

In the main event and final fight of the ASS BEATER tournament two veterans of MMA will enter the IMMA cage. Ed Gein the former EEC champion has made a name for himself with incredible world class striking technique coupled with what can only be described as an anvil in place of his jaw. This has resulted in seventeen knockouts, twelve of which came within the first round, if anyone has the tools to run away with the two million dollar prize it's The Plainfield Ghoul.

However, he is going to face another dangerous fighter, Boris Cekada who has never been knocked out and has already beaten Gein once in the tournament, in a fight where Gein was never able to land those bombs he relies on, and Cekada was able to pick his counterstrikes over and over again, it was a grinding decision and a showing Cekada would surely like to duplicate. Despite what the tournament has indicated, Sensi is far from a decision fighter, the man has twenty-three finishes on his resume, and in the semi finals of the tournament he showed his grappling background by submitting BJJ brown belt Michael Patton.

Now the fight itself is a close one, Ed Gein would beyond a doubt look to assert his dominance standing and add this tournament to his growing resume. While the forty-four fight veteran Cekada would like nothing better than to take Gein down and submit or ground and pound him. There is a lot of money on the line and whoever can manage to apply their gameplan effectively will walk away a good deal richer than they are today, I have a hunch that Ed Gein will win by a second round TKO, but that is assuming that Boris Cekada's grappling doesn't get the better of him.

Co-Main event - Lightweight title fight: Seppo "Suppo" Taalasmaa 35-16 (2-0 IMMA) vs. Zophiel Furfur 14-1 (7-1 IMMA)

With only two fights in the IMMA cage Seppo Taalasmaa can only be counted as the newcomer in this fight, while the former champion Zophiel Furfur only looks to regain what was once his. But for all other intents and purposes Taalasmaa is not a newcomer, with fifty-one pro fights under his belt the new crowned IMMA champion has a wealth of experience to take from, the BJJ black belt has twelve submission wins and can be counted upon to take this fight to the ground against Furfur who is a much weaker grappler. But I do feel he has a slight advantage in the striking department and should he be able to keep the fight standing we might have a new champion on our hands.

Again it's a case of who can determine where the fight takes place, if Furfur gets taken down it will be like a late night rerun of Jaws, but should he land the same vicious head kick that he used to great effect on Blixt Boxlund we might see Taalasmaa do a spirited reinterpretation of the chicken dance live in front of ninety-thousand people.

Me? I think that the veteran Seppo Taalasmaa will win by a landslide.

Heavyweight: Aleksi "Viikinki" Borga 32-12 (9-3 IMMA) vs. Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko 24-11 (2-0 IMMA)

Another former IMMA champion who will take on a huge test tonight in Fedor Emelianenko is Aleksi Borga, the eternal runner-up in historic organizations such as Blitzkrieg and Synchronicity has been taking names and kicking ass lately as he progresses through the IMMA rankings, with all nine of his wins in the organization having come via stoppage he is a danger to anyone with something to prove.

And a fighter with something to prove is Fedor Emelianenko, with vicious ground and pound he has dominated his first two opponents in the grappling department, and seeing as only a madman or mayhaps Jan Paulsen would try and stand with someone with Borga's power we will most likely see The Last emperor stick to his opponent like gum to a shoe and try his best to get the much bigger Borga on his back.

Once there Borga is still no easy customer, having never been submitted and sporting a BJJ brown belt he might have a good enough defense to deal with Emelianenko, but I think the Russian veteran will win via TKO from the mount.

Light Heavyweight: Doppo Orochi 11-1 (0-1 IMMA) vs. George "The Animal" Steele 31-13 (3-3 IMMA)

Doppo Orochi came into IMMA with an unblemished 11-0 record, however it was quickly marked by the step up in competition as he took on another elite striker in Sun Wukong. Now he is facing a very similar opponent in the American knockout artist George Steele.

Steele has more knockouts than Orochi has fights, seventeen in fact, and despite having six knockout losses on his record, he always puts up a fight and is always in it with a fighting chance, just one punch away from the knockout.

And that's why Orochi has to be careful in his upcoming fight, while his Muay Thai background is impeccable he still has to get to the clinch in my opinion, if the fight takes place anywhere else he will get dropped like a piñata.

Lightweight: Michael "Nuts of Wonder" Patton 23-7 (6-1 IMMA) vs. "The Dragon" Bruce Lee 28-11-1 (5-2 IMMA)

Having won every fight up until the semi finals Michael Patton must have been sorely disappointed to find himself on the receiving end of a bone-cracking armbar in his last outing. Now he is looking to take that frustration out on the second semi finals runner up Bruce Lee.

However, Bruce might have a few elements he wants to add to the equation, his fists and feet are dangerous and being on the receiving end of one of Lee's rights is nothing besides unpleasant to say the least.

Both fighters have extensive records outside of IMMA and both have experienced what it is like to get a belt strapped around their waist, now both are looking to rebound from a sour loss in the semi finals, and a third place in the ASS BEATER tournament will be a real push on their way towards once again being champion material after the tournament is over.

That's all fine, but which one of these two knockout artists will succeed you ask? Well, personally I think Bruce Lee can pull it of via decision, with his excellent cardio and iron chin being his most important tools.

Light Heavyweight: Peter Smith 29-13 (7-3 IMMA) vs. Freddy "The Nightmare" Krueger 19-17-1 (4-6-1 IMMA)

This card seem to be filled to the brim with heavy hitters and this fight is no different, both Freddy Krueger and Peter Smith have won a majority of their fights with their fists and will be looking to put the other guy to sleep in this fight which promises to be a barn burner.

Freddy Krueger is looking to revitalize his career by stringing a few wins together after going 2-0-1 in his last three fights he seems to be hitting with more accuracy than power, lets hope he changes that tonight.

Peter Smith on the other hand who is riding a four fight winning streak and getting dangerously close to a title shot if he keeps it up, has won three of those by knockout, and he looks to make Krueger just "another name" on his record he made meet Jesus.

Both fighters are great in the standup, and even though Krueger does have some submission victories I have a feeling he will look to win the striking exchange in this fight, however I see Smith winning by TKO in the third round due to his vast experience and Krueger's unfortunate habit of receiving blunt force trauma to the head.

Featherweight:"Little Boogie" Charles Oliveira 15-6 (14-6 IMMA) vs. "Mean" Mr Green 24-11-1 (7-4 IMMA)

After having suffered two losses in a row at 155 the former lightweight champion Mr Green moved down to 145 to contend for the title, and boy did he. After living dangerously on the ground for several minutes Green scored a vicious one punch knockout towards the end of the first round and was in the process crowned IMMA's first 145 champion.

Now the challenger Charles Oliveira is currently riding an impressive nine fight winning streak, but he has the odds stacked against him in this one, Green is far more experienced and should have no issue in dealing with Oliveira on neither on the feet nor on the ground, and I believe it would be a great upset if Green does not retain his title.

Light Heavyweight: Rodney Holmes 20-6-1 (8-1-1 IMMA) vs. "Tourista" Binzo Binzo 27-18 (5-5 IMMA)

Another fight that could leave one man a serious contender for the title is the fight between Holmes and Binzo. Holmes who is on a two fight winning streak and who has has only lost once in his last twelve fights he is showing his potential as a highly ranked light heavy weight, and a dominant showing in this fight will surely segment his position as one of the best 205-pounders in Finnish MMA.

But who better to stop him than Binzo Binzo, the veteran of fourty-five fights has held multiple title belts throughout his career, and whatever material his chin is made of they should use that as protective layers for space shuttles as he has never being knocked out throughout his career, a feat which is damn impressive. His experience and grappling should surely be his main offensive tools in this fight, and should he get the fight to the ground he should get the decision.

Middleweight: Hal Jordan 21-5 (2-0 IMMA) vs. Kublai "the Raw Dawg" Congo 23-12 (2-2 IMMA)

Hal Jordan has what one might call, a suspect chin, all his losses have been knockouts which is pretty bad for his career seeing as he is predominantly a striker, and for that reason, I think he is happy with his opponent tonight. Not due to Kublai Congo being an easy opponent, but more to the point, he is not a heavy hitter, only four of his twenty-three victories has come via KO and most where early in his career. So the chances of Jordan seeing stars tonight is relatively slim.

However, I do foresee him having to pay a visit to the emergency room either way, due to Congo's incredible grappling pedigree, and if I'm right, Jordan can look forward to some broken limbs or being choked unconscious in the near future.

Middleweight: Olli "Scourge" Jokinen 32-12-2 (2-4-1 IMMA) vs. "The Count of Monte Fisto" Timo Takka 10-7-1 (2-3-1 IMMA)

Olli Jokinen's career has gone slightly downhill since he signed for IMMA, back then he was the bee's knees of European MMA, but after taking three consecutive losses and only winning two of his last seven fights Jokinen is struggling to remain relevant. In his last outting the scourge got a narrow win and will be looking to ince again start building momentum as one of the best fighters in mma today.

Timo Takka is currently coming of a loss to Hal Jordan, and is also looking for redemption, in my opinion his best shot would be at Jokinen's chin, as half his losses come via knockout or TKO, but putting your hands on a world class muay thai specialist is always a challenge, but that is what Takka wants to do in order to stay afloat in this very competitive Middleweight field.
