HFC 46: Dre Battle Post-Fight Report

HFC Middleweight Contender Dre "Deathrow" Battle is one of the fastest rising young stars in the organization. After a setback in his HFC debut that saw him drop a close decision loss to Samson Komua - a loss he would avenge via technical knockout at HFC 42 - Dre went streaking finishing 4 out of 5 fights by way of knockout, with his last 2 KO's coming in the 1st round.

Currently riding a 5 fight win streak, Dre is the clearcut #1 contender in the Middleweight division. Rumors report that it has been tough on org owner J.W. Hardman and matchmaker Igor Peixoto to book Dre fights vs opponents willing to test their mantle. Deathrow's stock continues to surge after his last fight when he dismantled former title challenger and BFC champion Daniel Yonic in 32 seconds of the 1st round.

"The Pimp Hand of Doom strikes again." Dre tells us, as he holds up a closed fist. "I pop melons. It's what I do."

Dre Battle made Daniel Yonic look like an amateur. The same Daniel Yonic that took current Middleweight Champion Ademaro Dos Anjos to the 3rd round and nearly finished him in the 2nd round when he was on top of him pounding his face off the canvas. ADA showed his toughness and survived, submitting Yonic in the 3rd round to retain his championship belt. Yonic had lost, but his stock rose as he performed admirably against the reigning champion fighter.

Fast forward to HFC 46 and Dre shuts Yonic's lights off in under a minute. 32 seconds to be exact. MMA math tells us that ADA better watch out for the Convicted Fight Club product. Experts will point to Dre's purple belt and claim that ADA underestimated Yonic in their match, and that ADA displayed the heart of a champion in his victory - true - but he has yet to face a quality fighte from a legendary camp like Dre's before.
