Meet Tomas Marley

Fighter profile of Tomas Marley by Chris Karter

"It don't matter if you win or lose, as long as you try your hardest."

Introducing "The Viking" Tomas Marley, MMA veteran and product of Convicted Fight Club, the best damn gym in the world run by the legendary Chris Karter. The Convicted fighter is sporting an impressively pedestrian record of 19-13. Marley fired his former manager Anita Baker to hire Karter, and now he is going to Anita Job if he doesn't find success in the MMA cage. He's a 20 fight veteran of EVO and CEC - two of the premier organizations in the MMA world. Tomas is in the process of making a comeback story of the ages. After starting his career under new management with a forgettable 8-8, he's went an incredible..... 6-3. But he did win a grappling championship somewhere in the middle of that.

"I won Gold at the Tycoon World Grappling championships and all I got was this shirt."

That was the high point of The Viking's career, when he won the Division 1 Lightweight TWGC tournament. In the 2nd round of the finals he rag-dolled Bjorn O'donnel's fighter and choked him out in seconds in one of the most one-sided grappling matches of all time. In the finale he would go up against, who woulda thunk it, Stockton's kid cannabis, hometown ninja, Nick Diaz. This was the first time Tomas ever competed for a championship or trophy and he'd take home the gold after he won in dominant fashion. This was the moment that was going to rejuvenate his career. He has yet to compete for another title. He is 2-2 since his moment of glory, the pinnacle of his mediocrity.

"Winning ain't everything mon."

Tomas Marley may be a white-skinned man in Jamaica, but he's a brother among his people and a talented ganja farmer on the island. Tomas is named after his ancestor, a Norwegian viking who left Scandinavia and paddled all the way to Jamaica centuries ago in search for a magical plant. After arriving in Ocho Rios, he found the sacred herb, settled in with the locals, and lived happily ever after. One day Tomas got really baked and signed up for cage fighting - he's been doing it ever since.

"Tomas is a bit dim, but in a lovable way."

It's documented that the run-of-the-mill fighter is well liked by team mates and appreciated. He has a reputation for being supportive during his teammates fight camps, catering to their training and preparation needs. He's truly selfless and without ambition. How he's managed to remain in company of elite management for such a long period of time is a testament to his character and likability.

"Will fight for food."

Tomas Marley is currently unsigned with really nice offers on the table. He's fought at 155, 145, but has announced that he's officially dropping down to 135 after his case of the munchies has depleted the Jamaican food economy, creating a malnourished and starvation epidemic. Because of this he's gone vegan and grows all of his own herb and veggies - trimming down to 135 lbs -claiming he is in the best shape of his life.
