On 2016-09-16, in front of the eyes of 1875 exalted spectators at Hayashi's Lounge - Las Vegas, was held the spectacular DFC Mayhem 10. Everyone was excited and eager to witness the main event where two Middleweight titans clashed for the DFC's Middleweight Championship title!

185 lbs 3              Jon Lewis             Willie Stroker     TKO (Strikes)      1              02:18

The opening fight of the event presented to the fans two 19 year old youngsters, who were aiming to win the hearts of the audience. Lewis started as the more aggressive fighter in the clash and was checking every possible option to get the win. He first got Stroker into clinch, but then Jon Lewis saw that things aren't working his way so he managed to get out of it. Then things started working for Lewis.

When the clock was about to show that there are 3 minutes left in the round, Lewis landed a perfect punch combination, which resulted into opening a nasty cut on Stroker's face. This obviously enraged Willie Stroker a lot, who replied with a strong punch combo which staggered Lewis backwards. Then came Stroker's decision to enter in the clinch, which he should probably regret, because his poor clinch attempt was followed by furious punch combination counter by Jon Lewis, which put Stroker to sleep! I am looking forward to see Lewis' next impressive performance.

155 lbs 3              Hundo Varga      Jacob Demon     Decision (Unanimous)   3              05:00

Next fight on the preliminary card was Varga versus Demon. Maybe it was a fight that every spectator in the arena would forget in a day or two, but the tactical part of it could be somehow interesting. Varga showed his dominance in every possible aspect for full 15 minutes, but he wasn't able to finish Jacob Demon. Mr. Demon obviously wasn't well prepared for the fight because he was trying to grapple with a much better wrestler, which resulted in many failed takedowns and many lost points for the referees' scorecard, which in the end was showing a clear victory for Hundo Varga!

185 lbs 3              Viktor Lombarge              Tommy Gunner                KO (Strikes)        1              01:31

Third fight of the night met Viktor Lobarge and Tommy Gunner. Lobarge didn't give a second for Gunner to get used to the situation, he scored a takedown in the very beginning of the round. Then followed a transition to full mount and Gunner was in great danger! Viktor Lombarge started rocking him with solid ground strikes, Gunner was cut and not much later he was knocked out by the furious beast on top of him!

145 lbs 3              Stefan Struwe   Dada Buckeye   TKO (Strikes)      2              00:41

The fourth preliminary fight was between Stefan Struwe and Dada Buckeye. It was a solid boxing game, in and out of the clinch but no matter how hard the 19 year old Buckeye was trying, he couldn't cope with the experience and skill that Struwe brought into the fight. Both fighters started aggressive the first round and after 2 and a half minutes Buckeye was rocked by some strong punches from Struwe. Dada managed to survive this bad moment and even landed a solid uppercut, causing a cut on Struwe's face. Round 1 was over after some intense action! In the beginning of round 2 Buckeye tried a vicious cross, which missed, and he made a mistake to open his guard too much. Then Struwe countered with a strong right, which sent Buckeye to the canvas. The 25 year old Struwe followed him to the ground, landed some punches from the mount and it was all over!

265 lbs 3              Victor Ruiz           Hinrik Leifsson   Submission (Kimura)      1              03:50

The fifth fight in the schedule clashed Victor Ruiz with Hinrik Leifsson. Both fighters started with heavy grappling but it was Ruiz who was the more dominant wrestler. His first successful takedown was followed with some submission attempts which Leifsson defended well. Then Leifsson managed to get back on feet, but not for long! Another good takedown by Ruiz, coming from the clinch, followed by heavy ground strikes and everything seemed to be ready for the finishing move! Nasty Kimura by Ruiz and it was over!

155 lbs 3              Marcus Sharpe Nairo Velasquez Quintana           Submission (Armbar)     1              01:36

The opening fight of the main card was between two promising youngsters - Sharpe and Quintana. Both fighters started very aggressively, an early jab by Sharpe caused a cut for Quintana. Then Quintana tried to gain advantage in the clinch but that was not for long! A perfect combination of actions for Sharpe! He managed to pull guard from the clinch, then without wasting time on the ground he pulled-up a nice reversal stunt and not much later, Quintana found himself in great trouble! Sharpe was on his back, trying to rip-out his arm with a spectacular armbar! Quintana couldn't do anything else but to tap-out.

155 lbs 3              Billy Smith           Glenn Williamson             TKO (Strikes)      2              00:58

It was time for the seventh fight of the evening, a clash between two 20 year old youngsters - Billy Smith and Glenn Williamson. A fight where Billy Smith impressed a lot, being the dominant fighter in the whole first round! Williamson only managed to get two takedowns and to try a few bad submissions which eventually failed. It wasn't his night at all! After a strong first round for him, Smith entered the second round with higher confidence and managed to put his opponent to sleep early in the round!

185 lbs 3              Ingram Tottingham         Uriah Hall             Submission (Triangle Choke)       1              03:56

Next fight on the line was between two classy fighters - Ingram Tottingham and Uriah Hall. Hall started as the more active stand-up fighter, but then Tottingham took a smart decision to bring the fight to the ground. A successful takedown attempt by him, was followed by a surprising reversal, but that didn't stop Tottingham to execute a triangle choke from the bottom position!

145 lbs 3              Maximus Ragnarsson     Ortais Gatavs     Decision (Unanimous)   3              05:00

The co-main event met Maximus Ragnarsson and Ortais Gatavs, two experienced and valuable fighters on the DFC's roster! But there really was something wrong with Gatavs! Maybe he was scared, maybe he had personal problems, but he didn't looked focused on the fight at all! That was one of the most one-sided fights I have ever seen! Ragnarsson gave a nice beating to his opponent for 15 minutes, but it was really strange that he didn't manage to finish him earlier! When the time came for referee decision, it was all known and predictable. A 30-24 win for Ragnarsson.

185 lbs 5              Jon Laston           Jack McVitie       KO (Punch)         2              01:54     185 lbs Title

It was time for the main event! With a title on the table, the contender Jack McVitie was going up against the champion Jon Laston! McVitie started extremely aggressive and it was obvious that he was hungry for the success. He managed to land many shots, which were answered by fewer, but heavier strikes from Jon Laston! One of those strikes opened a nasty cut on McVitie's face and his corner was already afraid for his survival chances in the following 4 rounds. Despite the received cut, McVitie obviously dominated the first round! The second round started the very same way as the first - McVitie was the one looking for it! But it was a spectacle to remember! Both fighters were exchanging strikes like wild animals! Unfortunately for McVitie, Laston's strikes were landing on his face like heavy hammers, while we couldn't say the same for McVitie's punches! A nasty combo by Laston knocked his opponent down, just before the end of the second minute of the round. He let McVitie to stand-up, just to punish him with one of the heaviest uppercuts I have ever seen! Game over for McVitie! Long live the reigning champion!
