Jay's Tycoon Tips

Editorial by Jay Lawrence

How to make money $$$$; a financial guide for the new manager.

When you first join MMATycoon, you start with a very limited amount of money.  Right off the bat you can get a jump start though. The first thing you should do is apply to the noob fund through the forums.  Many veteran players have come together to create a bank of cash just for helping new players start off, it doesn't get any easier than that!  After that, here are a few simple ways to make some Tycoon cash.

Joining an alliance.  Many alliances help their new rookies by forking out a little from the coffers to get them started and allow them to join elite gyms with their fighters.  Alliances don't want dunce managers with mediocre fighters, so it never hurts to ask!

Laundry.  This is somewhat time consuming, but there is no better source of long-term income then creating a clothing (or even nutrition) company and using it to launder money.  Tycoon managers are schemers and they rip off their fighters left and right.  How this works, is a manager basicly forces a fighter to buy clothing from your company, then you keep a $ of that income (average is about 20%) and you send the other 80% of the money back to the manager.  There is no other way for a manger to get money from a fighter, so managers do this!

Contracts with free agents! This is a bit more time consuming and is definitely not the get-rich-quick scheme that laundry is.  Basically, search free agents, find a free agent with a lot of hype and sign him up.  The higher hype fighters land bigger contracts with fighting organizations, when I was a new manager I was able to pick up a fighter with 100k/fight contracts from the free agency and you can too.  Through the free agency you can view their current contract and you might even find one with a current contract that is nice.

Public gym. This is not an easy way to make money, but it can be lucrative if done correctly. There are many ways to setup a public gym to make money and if you look around at different public gyms, especially in the large cities, you can see how they are doing it.  The most important part to this is to keep inviting new fighters to your gym and keep your equipment nice.

Graphics design.  There are managers out there looking for people to design avatars, posters, belts, clothing, supplements, logos, banners, etc.  They will pay pretty well for it too.  For my org alone I have 2 graphics artists who each make a weekly salary which more than covers their weekly costs of playing the game.

Writing.  Fighting organizations need writers!  It is not easy to write review and previews for an organization and if you read through the forums you will see what it entails.  However, for a piece only a page or so long you can make a pretty good chunk of change.  If you're really good, people will pay quite a bit.  If you want to get your name out there, my suggestion is to message an org owner or two, start writing interviews for your fighters on the forum, and submit articles to the Tycoon Times.

Purchase VIP.  If you make a decent living in the real world, you might be able to give some welfare to the Tycoon world.  Some Tycoon managers cannot afford VIP with their real life wage and you can reach out to them to buy them VIP.  This game is so much better with VIP and if you don't have it, but want it, save up the money and ask someone to buy it for you!  There is a thread on the forums created just for this need.

Lottery.  This is how I made it rich, a lucky 10-million from the Tycoon Lottery! I buy tickets every lotto just in case, and you could be the next $10mil winner, who knows!?  This is a little riskier however, and probably shouldn't be considered as a "good investment".

Betting.  There are several bookmakers in the game who create betting odds and lines for in game events and live events.  This is a litte risky, however a substantial amount of money can be made here.  My bookmaker alone forked out $70k to betters of the UFC202 fight.

If you have any other questions about making money, feel free to PM me in game, I enjoy helping new players and I will try to reply to your message as soon as possible.
