Q: Dear martial arts fans, today I will pay a visit to the one of the best mixed martial artists in the middleweight division and the current number one pound for pound fighter in the world, Matt Quin. He's found a home in the world-renowned Global Association of MMA, or GAMMA in short. Only 28 years old, he may have started his career in GAMMA on low note, getting finished in his promotional debut, but he came back with a vengeance. Like a phoenix he has risen from the ashes and is now set to defend his GAMMA middleweight title for the second time. Now Matt, how does it feel to be the number one mixed martial artist on the planet?

Matt: It feels a little surreal to be honest. I only became number one because the previous number one lost a fight. I didn't win it myself so I feel like I need to solidify my ranking by beating my next opponent. So Ed, don't think for a minute that my head won't be in it because I'm out celebrating my current ranking, I came here by working hard and I will stay here by working hard!

Q: Well seeing as you just mentioned your next opponent, what do you think about your next opponent?

Matt: Ed Gennero is a though, experienced fighter and he's the number one contender for a reason. Under new management he's now 2-0 in GAMMA and both his wins were knockouts over some of the best knockout artists the division has to offer. The guy is legit and he's not to be taken lightly, so I won't and I hope to be victorious once more. It's time to prove to myself and to the world that I deserve to be where I am now.
