#15 Patrick Kopp (4-1-1, UB 1-1) v. Anderson "The Boa Constrictor" Gracie (6-6, UB 1-0)
Up first we have what is expected to be a grappling exhibition between New York submission wrestler, Patrick Kopp, and Rio's own BJJ artist, Anderson "The Boa Constrictor" Gracie. Both fighters come into this fight with a submission victory over their previous opponents at UB2. This will quite literally be Gracie's biggest test as Kopp outweighs him by 60 lbs. Kopp easily out grappled his previous opponent but Gracie is a purple belt not a blue belt. Will BJJ'S original purpose prevail? Or will Gracie submit to the bigger man?
#12 Ante "U" Pavelic (10-5, UB 1-0) v. #13 Osvaldo Gomez (6-1, UB 1-0)
In a highly anticipated match up we have dangerous Croatian Kickboxer, Ante "U" Pavelic, against United Blood's most controversial and most talked about fighter, Osvaldo Gomez! Pavelic put away his last opponent with a devastating head kick at right around 30 secs and no doubt will be coming into this one with that same intensity. Gomez, who was a Victory! Combat League 155lb champ, has shown no signs of fear towards his much taller opponent who outweighs him by 100+ lbs. As a matter of fact, Gomez brutalized his last opponent (who was bigger than Pavelic) so bad that he choose to retire due to the injuries he received from the fight. This one should be a strikers delight.
Co-Main Event:
#6 Luk Yuha (13-8, UB 1-1) v. #8 Maximus "Legionnaires" Meridius (11-7, UB 2-1)
Our Co-Main Event is a great one as two of United Blood's most popular fighters collide: The heavy handed Croatian, Luk Yuha, & Italian Grappler, Maximus "Legionnaires" Meridius! Both fighters come to this fight coming off dominating performances. Yuha knocked his opponent, Keith Stone, completely unconscious with a brutal uppercut at right under the minute mark. Meridius' showcased his ever growing submission game as he submitted BJJ purple belt Manuel Anjos. (UPDATE: While in the ring, Anjos was so furious that he was submitted he spat at the official and gave Meridius' team a "few words" causing him to be cut due to his behavior).This matchup will be all about who can take it where they want the fight to go.
Main Event:
#3 Walood "The Dugong" Kassab (9-6-1, UB 2-1) v. #4 Lucas "Beast" Marston (8-3, UB 1-0)
In our main event, we have two men battling for superstar status at United Blood as Omani wrestling strategist, Walood "The Dugong" Kassab, fights Rio's favorite striker, Lucas "Beast " Marston! In one corner we have Kassab, a tactical grappler who switches up aggressiveness and also his wrestling style (whether it be mainly in the clinch or on the ground). In his last bout, his smaller opponent made the mistake of initiating a short clinch that saw Kassab take him down and pound out a victory. In the other corner, we have Marston who is a feared "brawl till I fall" striker.
His last fight was arguably one of UB's most memorable to date when he went to war with John Eugemia for almost 30 minutes until Eugemia couldn't take anymore. Though 25 lbs heavier, Kassab is definitely not the iron chinned warrior that Eugemia is but he is smart and will try and calculate where Marston isn't so great at. Marston will not be looking to let him do so and will try to zero in on a KO finish for his home country of Brazil.
