Born early 2013, Kantaro Hoshino took his first MMA bout at age 19. It became clear right from the start that his KO power is beyond amazing. He knocked his opponent out clean in the first round with ease. His first elite fight came at the age of 24, when he was sceduled to fight Luzhin for the Umbrella 170lbs belt. Hoshino was able to squeeze out a split decision win against a top talent. It got the attention of a lot of org owners for sure ! Only two months later, he became the AMS 170lbs champion as well already. His great wins in his career up to that date earned him a contract offer from EVO. HIs debut fight was against a legend, Lance Templeton, a fight he won by unanimous decision and therefore made his debut at the big stage in style. 3 more wins, all (t)KO wins earned him a fight with the man , the myth , the legend... Bowser Stormcrow.  He wasn't ready for that level yet and lost by decision. No gift either next as he was set up against Rustam Kersikov next. He lost the fight by split decision , but earned a direct rematch after such a close fight. He decided that time to play was over and (t)KO'd Kersikov in the 3rd round of their second bout.

After (t)KO'ing the ultratough Tony Benson,  Hoshino was set up against Stormcrow again and boy did he deliver!!!

A slow jab from Stormcrow misses its intended target.
Hoshino swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Hoshino lands a big uppercut and Stormcrow crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Stormcrow looks OK. Hoshino waves Stormcrow back to his feet!

Stormcrow is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stormcrow tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hoshino swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Oh Stormcrow is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stormcrow ducks under a wild hook from Hoshino.
Stormcrow throws a leg kick that is checked
and Hoshino counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kantaro Hoshino!
Kantaro Hoshino is the new welterweight champion!
An out of breath and clearly excited Kantaro Hoshino thanked FinnFighter Nutrition (Five 160Q supps!) for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).

After the huge win, Stormcrow wanted a direct rematch and given his status , that was only logic. He got his wish and was able to win by decision. After losing the fight, Hoshino became a free agent and rumor has it that Bjorn jumped on the opportunity and talked to his manager. Luckily Ken Takahashi was very interested in signing his beast to Syn !

In his Syn debut, Hoshino didn't get an easy opening fight at all. He got thrown straight at the wolves and once again shocked the world! He knockedRicky Rocker out cold in the third round and became the first and only ever to KO Ricky Rocker !

and Hoshino counters with a crisp right hand that drops Rocker! Hoshino lets Rocker back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Rocker is still on wobbly legs! Can Hoshino finish him?
Rocker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rocker misses with a leg kick
and Hoshino counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Rocker out cold! What a finish! Hoshino is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kantaro Hoshino!
Kantaro Hoshino gave a mention to On Tap (160Q) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).

As a result of his spectacular Syn-debut and his big wins at EVO in the past, Hoshino got the opportunity to fight for the 170lbs Syn belt next, against Eddie Clark, managed by the legendary Ruphus Duphus. What not many expected happened, as Hoshino once again showed his amazing KO power and knocked Clark out cold !

Clark displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Clark lands a jab to the nose.

Hoshino drops Clark with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Clark looks back up at him and smiles so Hoshino waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Clark is rocked!
Clark misses with a combination
and Hoshino counters with a big left hand that crumples Clark! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kantaro Hoshino!
Kantaro Hoshino is the new welterweight champion!

He might not have the name of Bowser Stormcrow or Ricky Rocker yet, but he is quickly building a big name for himself with his amazing performances! He is a fighter to follow for any MMA fan and will be spoken about for a long time for sure.
