IFC 7 Preview By: Justin Credible

ISLAND FC, Fight Organization, New York
Company profile by Justin Credible

Hey guys it’s Justin Credible back with no spelling errors and a run-down of Island FC’s 7th event! This one is coming to you live on Feb, 3, 2016! It’ll feature 2 title bouts and some scary looking prospects. Without further ado let’s get into the preview.

Starting things off we have Lance Cozad v Herminio Herculano! This one is going to be battle of distance, one man will be looking to utilize his Muay Thai, the other will be looking to utilize his boxing. Lance Cozad is still reeling from the first KO loss of his career and is looking to use his opponent as a stepping stone to show people that it was a fluke KO.

While Herminio Herculano will be looking to continue his winning ways, after dominating his opponent in his QFC fight (the judges had it 20-16 through 2 rounds). He’ll definitely be looking to take this fight into the clinch and dominate his opponent with his epic knees and elbows. This one is going to be a chess match, I’m taking Herminio Herculano to clinch this victory! (Get it CLINCH this victory? You get it!)

Blaster Monocastor v Obat Timur do battle next. This bout is intriguing because it features a IFC vet against a hyped prospect making his IFC debut, who will win? Will nerves take over? Is the hype justified? Do aliens really exist? Blaster Monocastor is a 2 fight vet with both his win and loss coming by way of (T)KO. Monocastor is definitely the more well-rounded of the two, but could find himself in trouble due to Timur’s high wrestling pedigree.

Timur is an Indonesian wrestling legend, at the age of 17 he took home the Junior Olympic gold medal at 140lbs. How well will his wrestling transfer? That remains to be seen, but many MMA purists are having wet dreams about his debut and can’t wait for this fight. I’ll stay away from the hype and pick Blaster Monocastor for the win!

Mark Wahlberg v Little Tow are going to war next.  Mark Wahlberg is a heavy handed fighter with a ton of potential. He’s 1-0 in IFC with a KO victory that set the blogs on fire! He’s riding a wave of hype like pro surfer and he’s ready for super-stardom! He’s been quoted saying, “Super-star name, super-star attitude, what did you think I was going to become? I don’t need the whole 5 minutes so why the hell did they give me 5 rounds? I’m going to make Little Tow my masterpiece performance.” Little Tow is no stranger to wars, he’s been in 2 already and split them.

His chain is made of granite and his hands made of stone, Little Tow is no easy out. “I’m a very game opponent, this guy wants to come in here and act like a star, that’s fine because guess what? Stars die.” Tough words coming from both men, I’m picking Mark Wahlberg in this one, what can I say I’m a Marky Mark fan!

Harold Armstrong v Jonny Bones Junior comes at us next. We all know that I’m a huge JBJ fan but he has his work cut out for him in this one. Harold Armstrong is an all-American wrestler with 3 state titles to his name and a ton of boxing trophies. He did 2 tours in Iraq and came out with 2 purple hearts and a congressional medal of honor. He is a hero to most and one hell of a MMA fighter. His lone professional win comes over Mark Munoz in just over a minute, proving to people he is the real deal. JBJ is an exciting very talented fighter with a tad bit of a problem with the booger sugar.

If he can stay clean he has the potential to be an Island legend, but as of now he’s had more lines than a Quentin Tarantino movie. Still JBJ is too big of a threat to look over, his last fight was one of the most exciting fights we’ve seen thus far on the Island. This fight is a toss-up for me, but I’m going to have to go with Harold Armstrong, because ‘Merica that’s why!

Robbie Condit v Octavion Prompethius lock horns next! 1-1 V.S. 2-0 both men are boxers who love to stand and trade. Robbie Condit is a warrior with the heart of 10 lions and a following like the pope! He is a crowd favorite and there is no mystery why. His last fight left so much blood in the cage that they had to get a hazmat team to clean it up.

OP (because that is one long name) is a wonderful boxer with footwork to make B-boys envious. His wins have both came by referee stoppage and he has no plans on stopping now, “My power is too much for any mortal man to handle, you’ve seen them wilt under my fists and fold up like a lazy boy. This fight will be no different, he is a sacrificial lamb to the Just Bleed gods.” OP is one powerful man, and he’s made me a believer, which is why I’m going with him for the win.

Peter Potter v Chocolate Milk comes your way next! Both men are stand up fighters, one likes to clinch and the other likes to throw combos. Peter Potter is coming off of a huge upset win over the heavily hyped Damian Santana in a fight which seen both men leave it all in the cage. Potter wasn’t happy with his performance and has made it clear that this next fight will be his redemption.

In the other corner Chocolate Milk is coming off a win over Ronald Glover which he literally knocked him into retirement. His Muay Thai skills helped him keep Glover’s wrestling at bay and he was able to finish the fight late in the first round. These two men are very close on paper but I’m going to give the edge to Peter Potter and pick him to win in a close bout.

Charlie Gamma v Winston Roscoe are up next and fighting for the 135lb title and the right to be cemented in history as IFC’s first 135lb kingpin. Winston Roscoe is coming off 3 straight (T)KO wins, including a pair of brutal finishes of Bart Paw. He is a powerful human being with underrated boxing and wonderful wrestling. No one up to this point has proven a challenge and Roscoe’s confidence is at an all-time high, “Charlie Gamma isn’t even a challenge, just a simple speed bump on my road to the title. I’ll do to him like I do to all speed bumps, run them over!” Charlie Gamma comes from an illustrious camp with a brother who hold the IFC 145lb title. He is looking to make history, by winning the title the Gamma brothers would be the first pair of siblings to simultaneously (try spelling that one Mamado) hold titles within the same organization. Charlie Gamma has proven he is a multi-talented fighter with high level BJJ. Both of his wins coming by way of submission he has this to say to his opponent, “I’ll break your ego first, and then your arm, and then your winning streak!” Yikes! These two men are certainly going to go to war, I’m picking Charlie Gamma though to become the first 135lb champion!

Our next fight we see Count Foo v DJ Jordan! In a somewhat peculiar bit of match making we see the heavy hyped crowd favorite DJ Jordan taking on the MMA rookie Count Foo. DJ Jordan comes over after EMMA closed its doors and IFC won the highly publicized bidding war. DJ Jordan is 3-0 with 3 finishes and a ton of stream behind him. Count Foo is new to MMA but boasts huge credentials. He is 18-0 as a professional boxer, but he decided he needed more of a challenge. When the opportunity to fight DJ Jordan came his way he jumped at it. “I came into this sport and on this Island to fight the best and DJ Jordan fits that. I’ll show you assholes to never COUNT FOO OUT, FOO!” While confusing I get it, which is why I’m setting my upset alert to this fight and picking Count Foo to win!

Otis Whittaker v Julian Day is our CO-MAIN EVENT! This is the Heavyweight Title fight all of the websites have been talking about! These men are very evenly matched up have a combined 6 (T)KO’s between them. To make this fight even more exciting, neither of these men have been out of the first round. Otis Whitaker is 2-0 with wins coming at IFC 1 and 3 he’s been a huge crowd favorite here on The Island and his hands are becoming an Island legend. He made his last opponents face look like something out of a Steven King movie, and his opponent before that was victim of a KO of The Night. Julian Day is new to IFC but certainly not new to The Island. Day has an early candidate for KO Of The Year in his fight against Ben Edwards with a superman punch that looked like it came straight out of a Zack Snyder movie (see what I did there?). These men have both promised (literally, we have quotes) that this fight will not see a second round. I’m anticipating a slug fest in this one, and Julian Day becoming the first HW champion in IFC history!

OUR MAIN EVENT IS NEXT! Hammer Radovan v Rick James ARE SET TO GO TO WAR! Hammer Radovan has the best hair on the Island, and he might have the best boxing too. He is 2-0 with 2 very nasty KO’s 3 people were offered this fight and 2 turned it down within hours. He has been doing media rounds and talking a pretty big game saying, “Rick James is a paper fighter he takes these low level fighters beats them and expects to be called the best, get the fuck outta here bro!

I’m gonna beat this guy off so hard he’ll be screaming my name!” Hmmm… I bet he didn’t think before saying all that. Rick James is 5-0 (1-0 IFC) with all 5 wins coming by way of stoppage and the past 2 coming by way of stoppage from cuts. He is relentless and violent. As a kid he was put into a boys home for overly aggressive children and came out a monster (it was later found out it was just a front for a children’s fighting ring). He is on a mission to show the world he is the best fighter on The Island. This one is a tough fight, but I’m going to have to go with Rick James, Bitch!
