Frank Barbosa vs. Nick Fjera **265 lbs Title**

Frank Barbosa has been with Legacy! since the very beginning and has managed to outwork and out class all 4 of his opponent’s thus far and earn the 265 lbs belt with style. With 4 TKO’s, 3 KO’s and 1 decision victory it’s become apparent that the undefeated Barbosa is a KO master. This Saturday will be one of the toughest nights of his career as will defend his first ever title against the up and coming Nick Fjera who lies on the opposite end of the spectrum. Throughout the entirety of Fjera’s career he has faced off against some top notch strikers. He has succeeded every time with the rare exception of Stu Grimson who created the only two blemishes on Fjera’s nearly perfect 8-2-1 record. Fjera shocked many onlookers in Legacy! 11 when he ground and pounded the tough Vicenzo Vitalli to a pulp and forced a submission by strikes. After racking up 7 submission wins throughout his career that victory proved that Fjera has been working an extra dimension into his ground game. With sensational wrestling and a brown belt in BJJ, The prospect of grappling with Fjera has become a terrifying one. Barbosa will be very cautious about going to the ground because, he knows he doesn’t stand a chance if this one goes horizontal. Not only can Fjera work submissions from any angle and position, his recent demoralizing TKO victory has proven that he’s more dangerous than ever from the top. Barbosa is well rounded, he’ll be a huge threat while this fight is in the vertical. He isn’t the most powerful striker out there but, he can score knockdowns with relative ease. This could spell trouble for Fjera, he’s faced some considerable brain damage at the hands of Stu Grimson and rumor has it that he’d more prone to knockouts than he has been in the past. This fight could go either way and it’s impossible to tell the outcome. The only thing that is for certain is that this one won’t last the full 25 minutes.

185lbs Wendel Clark vs. John Altare

The co-main event will feature an excellent pair of strikers as Wendel Clark makes his debut against John Altare who dominated Liam Davidson in his Legacy debut. Born in Canada’s ‘hockey factory’ of Kelvington Saskatchewan Wendel Clark was a natural at hockey. He played for most of his life but, grew tired of the sport as he aged. When he turned 18 he decided it was time to make a move into MMA and he’s been here ever since. It’s been 6 years since his QFC debut and he’s racked up an impressive 10-2 record that saw him capture NEX’s 185 title and defend in 3 times in a row. Wendel finally met his match when he Jason Sturd Jr. duked it out twice in a row. Both fighters fought like an old married couple but in the end Sturd had his hand raised twice. Capturing the belt and defending it in a rematch. NEX has since closed and Wendel fought his final match against Pekka Kindmark in his native Canada. Clark was well received in Canada after being away for years and he chose to return and sign with Legacy! John Altare has been making waves in Canada and he’ll be looking to avenge the loss of his fellow teammate Kindmark

265lbs Johnny Cage vs Constantine Kermit

The third match on our main card features a pair of heavyweights who have aspirations of climbing into the title picture with a win tonight.  Both come in following wins in their last fight and are ready to put on a show for the fans. Both these warriors feature losses to former Champion Terrell Grant by way of Submission however in this one I dont see anything short of a standup war.  Cage comes into this one the much larger man which could prove to be an advantage or a disadvantage in the end.  His 8 career victories by way of (T)KO is just one more then opponent Kermit however based on his career thus far Kermit looks for the finish or to be finished, as he simply can not stand those judges having never experienced a Win or Loss by way of decision.  Cage has more to lose in this war as he could experience a serious rank drop with a loss but we believe he will find a way to blast through for a victory.

265lbs Dave Brown vs Jyrki Kasvi

Well folks this one sets up to be a complete standup war as both fighter possess Elite level boxing skills.  But dont bet on that being the only way of victory as Brown has shown some slick BJJ skills during his career as well.  Kasvi comes in having won 2 of 3 during his Legacy! career while his dance partner Brown is coming off  a (TKO) victory in his debut with the company.  Much like our previous fight Brown comes in as the much larger fighter holding slightly over 20lbs on Kasvi to go along with his height advantage.  We wonder if his Muay Thai dominance will be a large part of his gameplan or if he will try and pull a fast one and make Kasvi tap like nobody is watching!  Both these men look like they could be future kings of the Legacy HW division so we will have to wait until tonight to see who blinks first.

265lbs Terrell Grant vs Thomas Bannon

Former Legacy Heavyweight Champion Terrell Grant closes out our main card as he takes on up and coming stud Thomas Bannon.  Grant is a veteran of the Legacy! cage having already stepped in 4 previous times and enjoyed a monster run until meeting head on with current champ Frank Barbosa.  On the other side of the cage stands Bannon who won his debut fight with Legacy! 3 weeks ago and he looks to continue his climb into the top end of the division with a victory tonight.  On paper this one looks dangerous as Bannon hold a distinct advantage on the feet but Grant is a vet with a massive BJJ arsenal that could see Bannon tapping like no tomorrow.  Bannon will need to get to that chin and get to it early otherwise Grant will drag this one down and wreak havoc on the Bannon limb of his choosing.

Well thats all the time we have, sorry for the shorter then normal preview this week, here is a look at the remainder of our event
