GAMMA#475 Tamias v Danze Review

Global Association of MMA, Fight Organization, London
Company profile by Mentor Guru Corleone

On 18 April, 2015, Mentor Corleone (3503) the owner of the original GAMMA (Global Association of MMA) Organization, presented the GAMMA#475 Tamias v Danze event, for the viewing pleasure of MMA fans around the globe. This event, located at the LA Memorial Colossuseum in Los Angeles, is proudly sponsored by GREEN!160 based in Las Vegas

This event hosted a two Title fights at 205 pounds between Ted Stefans and Scotty Bennet for the Light Heavyweight Championship, and at 265+ pounds between Tamias Poochyena and Billy Danze for the Super Heavyweight Championship. This action-packed event had 10 fights resulting in 3 knockouts (one by spinning backfist!) and 2 submissions with 4 fights going the distance. Rabid Alien here to walk you through the carnage. All the splincter-ripping nose-bashing details can be found at http://www.mmatycoon.com/orgeventpublic.php?EvID=826418

155 lbs fight between Jeff Gorden (143166) and Michael Jones (131920)

Gorden is a ground fighter and Jones is a standup fighter so lets see what happens. Round 1, Jones straight to the clinch so I expect we gonna see some Muay Thai fighting... I am curious to see if Gorden can handle that. Seems Gordon is doing fine and its Jones who trying to get free and finally does. Both men are attempting takedowns and clinches but the round ends with Jones scoring some leg kicks and Gordon landing the punches in the standing and the clinch. Round 2, Gorden throws a one two combo, and rocks Jones and then BAM! Gorden delivers a spinning backfist that drops Jones like a ragdoll! He out before he hits the canvas! WOW that was an impressive and unexpected finish! I LOVE spinning backfists.

Results: After 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Jeff Gorden!

185 lbs fight between Arstan "The Bold" Selmy (196913) and "The Hammer" Semmy Kasteel (124259)

Kasteel is a well rounded fighter with a slight weakness in BJJ. Selmy is a well rounded fighter with a Black Belt in BJJ and almost half of his 11 wins coming by submission....oh boy I think I know Selmy's gameplan already... Round 1, they both busy and feeling the other out but its Selmy with a takedown but Kasteel for some strange reason reverses him and now we have the superior BJJ fighter on his back where he can do his best work. And sure as the birds fly south for the winter Selmy is after the submission. He works hard for a triangle and after 4-5 attempts he gets it. Kasteel is asleep and its game over!

Results: After 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Arstan Selmy!

170 lbs fight between Alastair Gridlock (160181) and Oberyn "The Model" Martell (156085)

Gridlock is an elite fighter in all aspects of the game and Martell is generally weaked in every area making this quite a challenge for him. But challenges make giants out of some men, so lets see what happens. I was impressed by Martell who was outclassed and outgunned in every area except apparently HEART. In the 1st round Gridlock knocked him down and cut him with a powerful headkick but he got up just to have his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination from Gridlock that must of been humiliating. But this Martell guy is an animal in the cage and he fought back like one. At the end of the fight he had landed 33 strikes to Gridlocks 41 strikes landed. I look forward to seeing this guy return to the cage!

Results: The judges see the fight differently at 29:28/30:27/29:28 in favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Alastair Gridlock!

185 lbs fight between Flavio "Il Principe" Lazzarini (169781) and "The Anaconda" Marcos Duarte (120066)

Duarte is an elite ground fighter and Lazzarini is an elite standup fighter with a black belt in BJJ...so this could be a VERY interesting fight... Ok here we go! Duarte with a takedown and right to the GnP and I'll be damned... he changed tactics and is trying for a submission! But after several failures, he returns to the GnP and its Lazzarini who decides that since he IS in the proper position for some BJJ action he starts working for a triangle...after several attempts and while weathering Duarte's GnP, he gets it, and Duarte is tapping!

Results: After 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Flavio Lazzarini!

155 lbs fight between Will Genia (215703) and "Lightning Kid" Atlas Kivi (134572)

Kivi is an elite ground fighter and Genia is somewhat of a "jack-of-all-trades" street fighting kindof guy. Kivi dominated the punching war and the ground battle, but it was Genia's knees in the clinch and kicks in the standing that carried the win for him.

Results: It was a close fight with all 3 judges seeing it at 29:28 in favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Will Genia!

155 lbs fight between Gennaro "Il Coltello" Gattuso (143909) and Yngve Ingvar (140275)

Gattuso is generally considered a wrestler, and Ingvar is well rounded in all areas and has a Black Belt in BJJ. Round 1, surprising me, Gattuso goes for the takedown where Ingvar instantly is working his submissions and strangely enough reverses position and next we know its Gattuso working the submissions! The referee, probably being confused stands them back up and they go at it until the end of the round and all through round 2 as well, with Ingvar showing superior standup skills, and taking both rounds. Round 3, they continue the standup battle and Gattuso gets a takedown, and Ingvar tries a submission and then he reverses Gattuso who throws in his own submission and tightens it up and tap tap!

Results: After 1:49 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Gennaro Gattuso! Gattuso was awarded the "Sub of the night" for this submission.

185 lbs fight between Atte "Teufel" Peltola (177978) and Hektor Troy (160259)

Pretty normal start to the fight with each man looking for the range and perhaps a weakness in the others defenses. But nothing of note until almost the 3rd minute of the fight when Peltola cuts Troy with a jab. Shortly after that, Peltola drops Troy with a big left hand and mounts him and the artillery barrage begins. Troy is recovering and defends well and surprise surprise the referee lets it go until the end of the round! That MIGHT be the biggest surprise of the fight! Round 2, Peltola is working the body and wants to get a takedown and Troy is wanting to pull guard and u would think they could manage to accomplish both manuvers together...but eventually they reach agreement like good dance partners and its Troy pulling guard. And of course the referee wants to correct his earlier screwup and after the exact 1 minute 30 seconds of time allocated to ground fighting he stands them up. A minute later Peltola drops Troy with a left hand AGAIN....but its the end of the round before he can finish him. Round 3, They battle on the feet until the end of the fight without anything interesting to remark on except the close decision by the judges...when the fight I saw was almost qualified to be a "beatdown".

Results: All 3 judges see the fight the same at 29:28 in favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Atte Peltola!

265+ lbs fight between Kieron "The Chief" Radebe (183758) and Aleksanteri "The Siberian Bear" Karelin (185978)

Ten seconds and Karelin is cut and 1 1/2 minutes into the fight Rabede is cut and the security crew is having difficulties to keep the vampire fans away from the ring. Just before the final bell Karelin lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Radebe sprawling to the canvas. Karelin follows him down, looking for the kill but is unable to get it before the bell. Noteworthy of this fight was the accuracy of Radebe who landed 67% of his strikes versus Karelin who landed only 13% of his strikes.

Results: All 3 judges see the fight the same at 27:30 in favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Kieron Radebe!

This fight was for the Light Heavyweight TITLE between Ted Stefans (182837) and "I want to Vomit" Scotty Bennet (167187)

Bennet is throwing a lot of leg kicks, and kicks the legs right out from under Stefans 2 minutes into the fight. Bennet then decides to go to the ground and he shoots in for the takedown and starts working Stefans over with GnP. Stefans is trying to control and improve position and of course the referee stands them up just in time for the end of the round...why the refs always do that? Round 2, Stefans is talking shit to Bennet saying he gonna get knocked out which seems strange when Bennet is dominating the fight so far. But apparently Stefans is serious and next thing we know Stefans lands a big head kick that sends Bennet tumbling to the mat and when Bennet gets to his feet we can see he is cut. A minute later and Bennet misses with a combination and Stefans counters with a crisp right hand that drops Bennet! OH MY ! This is NOT looking good for Bennet. He gets to his feet and throws a leg kick but Stefans checks it and scores with a counter punch that sends Bennet to the canvas! Stefans smells blood - he's punishing Bennet with more strikes and the ref has stopped it!

Results: After 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ted Stefans! Ted Stefans is the new light heavyweight champion! Stefans was awarded the "KO of the night" for this knockout.

This fight was for the Super Heavyweight TITLE between Tamias Poochyena (135965) and Billy "Danzinie" Danze (149908)

Danze straight in for a takedown, stuffed x3 but he does score with a left hand and cuts Poochyena which has the vampire fans on their feet... Danze still interested to take the fight to the mat and Poochyena helps him out by knocking him down with a head kick, and Danze is cut which brings a roar of approval from the vampire crowd. In the last seconds of the round, Danze misses with an uppercut and Poochyena counters with a nice right hand that sends Danze toppling to the canvas. Round 2, A minute and a half into a boring round 2, Danze has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Poochyena smells blood and charges in for the finish! Poochyena unloads a vicious overhand right and Danze faceplants and its over!

Results: After 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tamias Poochyena!Tamias Poochyena retains his super heavyweight title! This fight was awarded "Fight of the night" for this performance.

Well Im gonna escape before the security lose control of the vampire crowd...I hear they are running low on Holy Water...time to go ! GOODBYE !!!
