HONOR FC presented HONOR FC 31: Resurgence at Spartas Palace in Las Vegas on September 6. This card was full of blockbuster matches; two of which happened to be title fights. Because of action packed cards such as this HONOR has continued to soar up the world rankings and has successfully established itself as one of the top promotions in the world.

Ethan "Captain Insaneo" Harris (11-4-1) vs "Ragnar" Svend Sved (19-13)
Sved was turned out to be the much more active, and versatile clinch fighter in this one as Harris only attempted elbows from the clinch; most of which Ragnar blocked with ease. In return Sved mixed in a variety of hard shots and ended the fight midway through the second round.
Prediction: Harris (T)KO Round 3 Result: Sved (T)KO Round 2

Jesus "Bad Man" Barreda (22-16) vs "Chairman" Mao Zedong (17-6)
A very active and accurate Mao Zedong essentially had his way on the feet with Barreda throughout the fight as he took a lopsided UD in the end.
Prediction: Zedong UD Result: Zedong UD

Carl Cade (13-9) vs Riley Cooper (22-10)
Another tough loss for the talented Cooper as he finds himself dropping another fight against a great opponent. Cooper was definitely the more active fighter and was winning the fight until the Cade's power began to turn the tide late in the second and on to the third. Finally the big strikes of Cade were too much and Cooper succumbed to strikes.
Prediction: Cooper UD Result: Cade (T)KO Round 3

Bruce "Mr.Jiu jitsu" Gracie (24-20) vs Jonathan "The Cheetah" Mvungi (14-13)
This was another classic Mvungi finish; sprawl and brawl all the way with accurate power punching and a constant threat to finish. As for Gracie the outstanding grappler was able to get the fight to the ground but he just could not apply finish before the bell rang to end the first. Undoubtedly if this were the early days of MMA with 60min rounds Gracie would've dominated this fight.
Prediction: Mvungi (T)KO Round 3 Result: Mvungi (T)KO Round 2

Adam Duritz (8-4) vs Reggie Smalls (19-11)
This was a bit of an odd fight as Smalls landed tons of takedown attempts and had good ground control but still lost a lopsided UD. As for Duritz he did no look nearly as impressive as anticipated and struggled to get his hands going against the grinding style of Smalls. The former champ struggled through on his way to victory and will find himself back towards the top of the division; but in my opinion it was closer than it should've been. Hats of to Smalls for having a great gameplan and showing up big on fight night; tough loss.
Prediction: Duritz (T)KO Round 2 Result: Duritz UD

"Veliki" Ljuti Hrcak (18-6) vs Frank "Bruiser" Brody (8-4-1)
Brody was able to make a statement to the rest of the division by dominating the former champion, he used brutal striking ability to land a ridiculous 15 for 15 in strikes and put Hrcak away in the first.
Prediction: Hrcak Sub Round 2 Result: Brody (T)KO Round 1

K The "THE GREAT" Rad (17-6) vs Rock "Taijutsu" Lee (10-6)
Our fight of the night winner was an absolute barn burner between two of the most exciting fighters in HONOR FC. Rad was able to absolutely dominate Lee with a multitude of strikes and level changes that kept Lee on the defensive throughout the whole fight. "Taijutsu" is a tough guy and he hung in there until finally the volume stiking of Rad overwhelmed him in the third.
Prediction: Lee (T)KO Round 2 Result: Rad (T)KO Round 3

Alberto "The Gunslinger" Lopez (32-11) vs Eduardo "Kuekuatsu" Alvarez (11-3)
Alvarez proved to be a great challenger to Lopez and gave him the best fight during his time as an HONOR FC title holder. Lopez dominated the first three rounds but the heart and cardio of Alvarez took over in the championship rounds and led to him scoring some rounds on the judges scorecards; however it was a bit too late as Lopez had already secured the decision on the judges scorecards and ensured that he survived his first scare as champion.
Prediction: Lopez (T)KO Round 4 Result: Lopez UD

Fred "THE DRAGON" Palowakski (16-9) vs Jules Winnfield (25-14)
These guys came out swinging right at the bell and put on a great; yet short; performance. Winnfield clipped Palowakski during a wild exchange and set him crashing to the floor, he followed up with quick strikes and forced the referee to step in and stop the fight.
Prediction: Winnfield (T)KO Round 3 Result: Winnfield (T)KO Round 1

Roy "The Wardog" Pitbull (30-12-1) vs "THE KING" Oliver Queen (25-17)
"The King" gave it best go in this highly anticipated rematch for the 145lb title but came up short due to the ground work of Pitbull. "The Wardog" wanted nothing to do with Queens striking ability and used his wrestling ability to control much of this fight and rain down ground and pound. Finally in the second round the damage became too severe and the referee stopped the fight to save the gutsy Queen from taking and more punishment to his cut; a sad ending because a fighter like Queen is always a big strike away from winning.
Prediction: Pitbull UD Result: Pitbull (T)KO Round 2 via cut

This was another amazing card brought to us by HONOR FC which has continued to grow and rise up the world rankings and has successfully established itself as one of the top promotions in the world.
