Event Preview: GAMMA#427 Snuka v Cid
Global Association of MMA
2014-09-06, Los Angeles, LA Memorial Colossuseum
Author:Mentor Guru Corleone

Gamma is proud to present GAMMA#427: Snuka v Cid at the LA memorial colossuseum in Los Angeles on September 6th. This is an amazing card full of blockbuster matches; two of which happen to be title fights.

Point Fighter (8-3-1) 0-1 Gamma vs "Maniacal Mauler" Ryan Sonnen (23-16) 0-0 Gamma

Point Fighter is coming in as the younger less experienced fighter and he lost his first and only fight in Gamma so he'll be looking redeem himself with a win here tonight. Fighter has proven to have some good stand-up and a solid chin but I think he'll need to take this fight to the ground and submit the older more experienced Ryan Sonnen to pick this one up, Ryan on the other hand will be coming into this with much more experience. He'll have to keep this fight standing by defending the takedowns of the younger fighter and look to light him up with strikes. I think the decision maker in this fight will be where this fight ends up!

Prediction, fighter: Unanimous Decision

Aleksanteri "The Siberian Bear" Karelin (18-11) 3-4 Gamma vs Jesse Venturia (33-30) 22-23 Gamma.

Jesse has the advantage in almost every aspect of this fight and should be able to put away the Siberian bear. Karelin's best chance is to take this fight to the ground and try to maintain control to pick up the decision. Jesse had good cardio and an elite stand-up ability, he should be able to wear down Karelin and finish him.

Prediction: Jesse Venturia (T)KO round 2

Pops Cama (15-7-1) 3-2-1 Gamma vs Tasos Ieronymakis (12-6) 3-4 Gamma

Both of these gladiators love to finish their opponent with strikes. These guys match up very evenly; the only big points of difference is that Pops has been brought to decision three times and Tasos has only one decision, Tasos also has better BJJ than Pops. I believe Tasos should win this fight with strikes, though Pops does have the ability to pull off the upset.

Prediction: Tasos Ieronymakis (T)KO round 3

Christian Hackenburg (12-4-1) 1-1 Gamma vs "Riiviö" Pyry Perkele (23-10-0) 5-4 Gamma

Both of these guys once ranked amongst the best p4p fighters in the world and each will want to use this fight as a springboard back toward the top positions in the world. These two are both finishers and neither are fond of their fights going into the judges hands. I believe this fight is going to have a huge finish for us. Pyry is a bit more well rounded in his stand-up ability and I believe Christian will have it on the ground. Although, Pyry has three submissions victories under his belt. Due to his more well rounded nature I feel Pyry Perkele will find a way to win this close contest.

Prediction: "Riivio" Pyry Perkele Unanimous Decision

"Spaced" Pegg Frost (27-15) 0-0 Gamma vs David "The Mink" Charles (10-4) 10-4 Gamma

Another clash of two top finishers! Frost has not proving to have a very strong chin in his fights being KO'd 5 times and TKO'd 4 times in his career. However, he is very heavy handed and has secured a total of 19 victories by knockout. His opponent is coming in with 7 knockouts and has never been KO'd in his career. This battle could honestly go either way but I believe Pegg's power will be to much for David and he'll walk away with another finish.

Prediction: Pegg Frost (T)KO round 2

Kevin "DEPOP KING" Garnett (35-17-3) 0-0 Gamma vs Umberto Sotto Jr (16-9-0) 0-0 Gamma

Both of these elite strikers are coming into this fight with winning streaks. Sotto is the more skilled but has also lost because of his chin before. Garnett is a tough guy with a great chin. I believe Garnett will win with a close decision victory by using accurate punching and evasive movements.

Prediction: Garnett by unanimous Decision

Mark Makers (25-13-0) 25-13 Gamma vs Anderson McGinley (20-8-0) 3-3 Gamma

These super heavyweights are both heavy KO specialists. They love to stand and trade big shots; Makers is much tougher than McGinley though and that should elevate him to victory and McGinley will likely want to stand and bang with Makers which will in turn get him finished.

Prediction: Mark Makers (T)KO round 2

"Little" Mac Tyson (23-9-0) 0-1 Gamma vs Lan "Aanallein" Mandragoran (22-10-0) 6-3 Gamma

Tyson will be looking to win this one to even his record out in Gamma after his frustrating (T)KO loss against Kyle Carlton but he'll have to get through the much younger Lan Mandragoran to do it. Lan definitely seems to have an advantage in the skill department but Mac is better equipped physically! I honestly believe that this fight could go either way!

Prediction: Lan "Aanallein" Mandragoran Decision

Ein Stein (19-5-1) 5-1 Gamma vs "The Whoreson" Lik Alotadik (18-6-1) 5-0 Gamma

Ein Stein will most certainly have his hands full tonight in this first title fight of the night as he goes up against "The Whoreson" Lik Alotadik! These men are two of the best lightweight fighters in the world and when they clash, you know it's going to be one for the history books folks. Lik comes into this with a huge advantage in the stand-up department as most of his fights have come by (T)KO. Ein Stein is a great striker himself but is also known for submitting his opponents. I expect these guys to battle it out through to the final bell unless Lik can place a well timed counter attack!

Prediction: "The Whoreson" Lik Alotadik (UD)

"Superfly" Jimmy Snuka (22-8-0) 9-3 Gamma vs "The Wizard" Xavier Cid (34-13) 1-0 Gamma

This is the last match of the night and this lightweight championship bout is between two of the best fighters in their weight class and that is seems to be the only thing these two fighters have in common. Jimmy is a great ground fighter with a large amount of victories by (T)KO from mount as well as a few submission victories. Xavier is a great striker but is not known for finishing his opponents. Xavier is going to wanna keep this fight standing and avoid being taken down by the ground specialist. Prediction:

"Superfly" Jimmy Snuka submission round 3

Ein Stein (19-5-1) 5-1 Gamma vs "The Whoreson" Lik Alotadik (18-6-1) 5-0 Gamma

Ein Stein will most certainly have his hands full tonight in this first title fight of the night as he goes up against "The Whoreson" Lik Alotadik! These men are two of the best featherweight fighters in the world and when they clash, you know it's going to be one for the history books folks.
