Honour 7 preview

Event Preview: Honour- 7 Boesh vs Sigit
Honour Fighting Championship
2014-07-19, Helsinki, Wild Bob's Bar - Helsinki
Author:Tony Rossi

This will be one of our biggest events yet. Two of the top three fighters ranked by hype (not Honour rankings) will be having fights tonight. One is in the big title fight that will showcase the very best of the bantamweight division. Let’s dive right in guys.

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Lightweight Fight (155lbs)

Perico "El Pelícano" LosPalotes (0-2) {0-1} versus Fred Kosinski (0-1) {0-0}

We know one thing that is for sure in this fight and that someone baring a draw will get there first professional win. LosPalotes is currently o and two and he lost one of those fights right here in HFC. To get his first win he will need to avoid the mat and keep this fight standing. Kosinski is o and one and this will be his first fight in Honour. He needs to get this fight to the ground to win but if he can’t he might just want to throw haymakers as we have seen LosPlotes does not have the best chin in the world. I am going to take LosPalotes to win by TKO in the second round in this one, but that is only if his chin can hold up.

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Steven "Battle Pig" Zisteau (0-2) {0-1} versus Samuel Duke (2-3) {0-0}

Zisteau has had a patch of bad luck lately and he has lost both of his first two pro fights. Not only did he loose his debut to Honour fight against Hawk but his manager recently dropped him. I heard Zisteau was talking about hanging them up after this fight so I am not sure what state of mind he will be in for this one. Samuel Duke is two and three and he is looking to make a big splash in the division. He has struggled in the past against Jiu Jitsu artisits like Zisteau so he will need to be working on his takedown defense. Duke should also look to use his superior striking skills to prevent takedown attempts. I got Duke winning this fight by decision after dominating the stand up for three rounds.

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Lightweight Fight (155lbs)

Alden "Chinese Killer" Ho (3-0) {0-0} versus Tamerlan Kantemirov (0-0) {0-0}

Both of these fighters are making their Honour debut but Ho has had some fights before. He is currently three and o and he has gotten those wins in three different fashions. His ground game is his strength so look for him to shoot in a lot. Tamerlan has yet to have a pro fight but there is a lot of promise with this young man. He has a great ground game for only being nineteen but he will want to be on top so the first to get the takedown could be the winner. Personally I Tamerlan is a slightly better wrestler so I am going to pick him to win by decision after a three round grapple fest.

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Mike "The Swine" Sioldster (1-1) {1-0} versus Louis Sobiesky (1-1) {0-1}

This will be a rematch and in the last fight Sioldster was able to get a KO in the second round. That handed Sobiesky his first loss and he wants to get that loss back. He put up a good fight so he could win this one and possibly force a trilogy but we will have to wait and see. I like the match up but I got to go with Sioldster again, but I don’t think he gets there as early. I think he gets the TKO win late in round three.

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Norman "The Green Goblin" Osbourne (1-1) {0-1} versus Chacho "The Tornado" Vasilevski (1-0) {0-0}

Norman took his first loss in Honour and now he looks to give The Tornando his first loss in his Honour debut. Osbourne has a lot of promise and I think he is a future champion and this will be a great test of that. A win here will boost Osbourne in the rankings and I am sure he wants to get his hands on Boesh again. Vasilevski is going to need to stay off the ground to get his first HFC win. He has a terrific striking game and he will need to utilize that in this one. If he does allow it to go to the mat I think Osbourne will be able to scoop up the victory quickly. I got Osbourne getting the take down and the win late in round number two, but this should be a great fight to watch.

Main Card Bout Number 1- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

Sergei "Crusher" Ce (1-0) {0-0} versus Cedric "The Flash" Jackson (1-0) {0-0}

 This could be the fight of the night. This is a very evenly matched fight and the fighters are both one and o. The similarities don’t stop there as both of these guys are stand up fighters with a little bit of wrestling to go with. I am willing to bet that this fight has these two throwing a lot of strikes at each other and this should end in a knockout. Since these two are the same height and have the same reach I am going to flip a coin and predict Ce to win via TKO.

Main Card Bout Number 2- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Sergei "The Indestructable" In (1-0) {0-0} versus Nonito Melo (4-3) {1-1}

In has to be the underdog in this one. He has had only one fight and it only lasted twenty one seconds. He is a striker and he will look to stand and swing at Melo in this one. Melo is four and three and he has shown that he can take the fight to the mat if he needs to and he just might want to do that. Melo can strike as well but we will see what his game plan is tomorrow. I think the underdog In will get the TKO victory in this one in round number two.

Main Card Bout Number 3- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Clint "Cowboy" Eastwood (2-0) {1-0} versus Hal Tamner (3-2) {1-0}

Eastwood has a perfect record and he is at the top of the division. He will look to keep all of his momentum going with a quick win in this one. I am sure there is a title shot in Eastwood’s future. Tamner is one and o in HFC but he has a three and two overall record. The experience factor does work in Hal’s favor but that is about all he has going for him. Tamner is not as good of a striker as Eastwood and he is only a slightly better wrestler. I think even though Tamner has the experience I am picking Eastwood to win by TKO in this one.

Co Main Event Main Card Bout Number 4- Bantamweight Title Fight (135lbs)

Jonny "Showtime" Boesh (4-1) {2-0} versus The Sigit (9-0-1) {1-0-0}

Boesh wants to become the first fighter to successfully defend their title in Honour. He does have a tough challenge ahead of him though in The Sigit. Boesh will be looking to keep the fight standing and really take it to The Sigit. Boesh does have some wrestling but honestly I don’t think he can compete with Sigit on the ground. Sigit is a brown belt and he has been improving his wrestling every day. The Sigit will need to turn up the take down attempts if he wants to get the win though. This should be yet another great fight and I think Sigit scores the takedown and gets the submission in the third or fourth round.

Main Event Main Card Bout Number 5- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Romulo Barral (12-2) {0-0} versus Tom Bowman (1-1) {1-1}

Barral will be making his Honour debut and he has a lot of hype behind him. He is currently twelve and two and he will be looking to get lucky win number thirteen. He is the better wrestler and the better striker so even though he is a ground fighter he might want to look to keep this one standing. The one and one Bowman has unfinished business with Daniel Trzcinski but he will look to take Romulo down a peg first. The winner of this fight could set themselves up for a title fight in the future but we will have to wait and see. I think Barral will win this fight by decision since he should win the stand up and he has the ground game to go with. If he spends to much time on the ground though Bowman will get the submission.
